We collaborate with government and non- government stakeholders in using big data to improve infrastructure and services in cities. We are a small multi-disciplinary group of social scientists, architects, urban planners, designers and technologists.

About the role

We are seeking a candidate with prior work experience in urban planning or transport to join our team as Senior Program Associate. The candidate will support the team through primary and secondary data collection, research and data analysis. The candidate will work closely with the team to liaise with government stakeholders, prepare deliverables, communicate results, and support the internal team across projects. We are looking for detail-oriented people who are keen on working in the domain of data for social change.

Responsibilities

oUndertaking site visits for audits, surveys, documentation, collecting primary and secondary data

oQuantitative and Qualitative research pertaining to addressing the gaps in urban policy, planning and governance on topics such as transportation, housing, urban safety, women empowerment and economic development.

oDesign research tools and conduct data collection including survey/interview/ FGD questionnaires and observations.

oSupport research and analysis required for the projects in preparation of internal and external communications pieces.

oEngaging and collaborating with various stakeholders and partners across the urban and transport sector

oCollaborate with the program team in writing reports as per the monitoring and evaluation requirements. Assist in the preparation and submission of research grant proposals.

Desired Skills and Qualifications

oMaster's degree in public policy, social sciences, economics, urban planning or a related field.

oMinimum 3 years of work experience in a relevant field.

oProficiency in MS Office suite particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with a working knowledge of analysis of data & visualization

oWorking knowledge of GIS and Adobe Creative Suite is required.

oExperience with data collection, research & analysis.

oAbility to interact with a variety of stakeholders including government officials, private sector, civil society institutions, and research institutions.

oExcellent organizational verbal and written communication skills in English & Hindi

oDemonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced working environment and to juggle multiple assignments with little supervision.

oUnderstanding of policy implementation and evaluation, including knowledge of program evaluation methods and performance metrics.

oWilling to travel for work.

oInterested in working on the intersection of gender, mobility and social equity
