Pratt & Whitney has been a leading innovator in aircraft propulsion and power systems ever since.We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to work at our India Engineering Center campus in Bengaluru, India. The successful candidate will join Design team to provide support to Model Based Definition, Manufacture, and Inspection (MB-DMI). MB-DMI involves eliminating 2D drawings and replacing them with a 3D Solid Model as the design authority which contains digitally annotated product information needed for manufacture and inspection. This eliminates the need to manually translate information from a traditional drawing when it is consumed by our internal manufacturing centers, quality teams and suppliers. P&W is at the beginning of a revolutionary digital transformation that will position the business at the level of efficiency and effectiveness required to continue to thrive in our fast-paced based environment.Key Responsibilities:

• Creation of UG NX models of Aero engine components
• Creation of 2D/3D/PMI drawings of components
• Support to manufacturing Quality Notification (QNs)
• Creation of best practices document for many MBD topics
• Create, manage models and assembly in TeamCentre
• Understand technical processes and design requirements of gas turbine hardware.
• Learn and apply sophisticated solid modeling and analysis tools in a highly proficient manner.
• Utilize standard work, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) and other tools to continuously improve design processes.
• Communicate with team leadership and management on status and risks to program schedule and metrics.

Skills Required

• Experienced in Siemens tools such as NX, Team Center,
• Latest GD&T and its application on CAD models
• ASME standards such as ASME Y14.5 - 2018, ASME Y14.41 - 2019 and other industry standards.
• Experienced in digital annotation of product information crucial to manufacturing and inspection.
• Application of PMI on CAD models using latest GD&T, ASME and other industry standards
• Experienced in consumption of digitally annotated product information by manufacturing and inspection.
• Documentation of best practices for guiding other users on how to practice MBD in Siemens eco system.
• Source authority derivative file (such as 3D pdf, STEP, QIF, JT etc) management including generation, validation, checking and resolving errors.
• Managing Requirements
• Communication of work completed via documentation, presentation to P&W SMEs, Chiefs, Fellows and leadership.
• Candidate should have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelors in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Or Masters in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 6+ years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of software tools such as Anark, Elysium, CADIQ, CAPVIDIA MBDVidia
• High proficiency in Unigraphics, MS Office, Teamcenter and SAP is desired.
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
• Significant interaction with internal and external customers is expected.
• Communication skills and assertiveness are key qualities to possess.
• Proficiency in analysis tools such as ANSYS and workbench.
• Automated design optimization skills are a plus.
• Broad understanding of hardware, drawings and manufacturing methods.
• Green/Black Belt six sigma certification is also a plus.

Additional Requirements:

• Travel up to 10%
