To meet the increasing demand of our expertise in the nuclear industry and renewables sector, now we have opportunities for Senior/Lead Process Design Engineers with experience ranging from 10 - 15 years, with demonstratable experience in process engineering to join the Nuclear & Power team at our AtkinsRealis India offices.
We are particularly interested in individuals with reasonable consultancy/contracting experience in process system design, and in particular demonstratable experience in hydrogen and decarbonisation technologies. The person should be experienced in technically leading delivery of process engineering or multi-disciplinary system design packages. Previous power, oil and gas or nuclear experience is desirable, but not essential, particularly with suitable demonstration of experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., Oil and Gas, Pharmaceutical).
Requirements:
Candidate should possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Suitable degree in Chemical or relevant engineering with domain experience in energy systems.
• Experience in hydrogen production processes and/or carbon capture processes.
• Suitable experience in technically leading process design packages or projects ranging from concept to detailed design.
• Demonstrable knowledge of multidisciplinary design projects, and relevant knowledge of site operations of process plant is desirable.
• Knowledge of gas separation technologies and industrial gas processing and handling technologies.
• Experience in cryogenic technologies and renewable energy systems is desirable.
• Experience in process calculations and equipment sizing.
• Conversant with international design codes and standards.
• Proven experience in designing new equipment, processes, procedures, and systems.
• Knowledge of mechanical design, piping layout, pipe support design would be an added advantage.
• Strong delivery culture, ability to multi-task, resource management, delegate tasks, develop and deliver cost/time-effective solutions.
• Experience of providing strong technical advice and guidance on process design to the client.
• Proficiency in software tools like ASPEN HYSIS, HTRI is desirable.
• Experience or exposure to project management principles desirable.
• Ability to understand and define client's requirements, plan & schedule deliverables, timelines.
• Proven strong problem solving, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with a proven ability to write accurate, detailed, and concise technical reports.
• Flexible to relocate to AtkinsRealis India Office Locations (Bangalore/Gurgaon/Mumbai) flexible in travelling to AtkinsRealis' and client's office locations around the world, if required.
Responsibilities:
The work is varied and may include some or all the responsibilities mentioned below:
• Design and development of process systems ranging from concept through preliminary to detailed design.
• Preparation of conceptual and detail design packages, including feasibility, optioneering, design development, and concept evaluation.
• Technical and team leadership.
• Mass, energy and activity balances, process, and hydraulic calculations.
• Review/production of process deliverables such as PFDs, UFDs, P&IDs, basis of design, process descriptions, equipment specifications, plant/item schedules, etc.
• Safety and fault analysis including SWIFT, HAZOP, HAZID studies, FMEA, FTA etc.
• Process optimisation, optioneering and design substantiation.
• Process simulation and design using software.
• Development of process control schemes, philosophies, and devising equipment operational logics.
• Thermal and hydraulic design and analysis.
• Equipment sizing, selection (including material selection) and procurement.
• Production of manufacturing packages, coordination with manufacturer/contractor, review of vendor drawings/documents.
• Production of deliverables such as design definition and substantiation documents, design basis, process description, equipment data sheet and specifications, system performance test specifications.
• Liaising with all stakeholders and responsible for all technical issues related to their area of specialisation.
• Co-ordination with other discipline specialists where areas interface or overlap exist.
• Preparation of equipment specifications, plant schedules, technical risk assessments, and commissioning strategies, cost, and programme estimations.
