• Should take up leadership roles as Project Process Manager, Process Lead, Process Co-ordinator, Engineering Co-ordinator OR Proposal Co-ordinator depending upon the project and management requirements.
• When He / she is going to work in projects, he / she should be able to perform the below activities independently.
• Liaison / coordinate with Client / Vendor / Licensor and work as a nodal person for all communications
• Review of Licensor basic engineering package (BEP) and participate in the technical evaluation of Licensor for Refinery & Petrochemical units
• Conduct Feasibility studies and Conceptual studies for developmental projects and propose suitable facilities and packages as per latest technologies.
• Participation in Technology evaluation and Licensor evaluation for Refinery & Petrochemical units.
• Optimize process design for process equipment (static and rotary) with respect to operating and capital cost.
• Prepare options for economic evaluation of capital and operating cost of projects and prepare cost comparison reports using NPV / LCC method.
• Simulation using PRO-II or HYSYS to finalize the PFD and HMB for various HMB cases.
• Check / approve process calculation for Pumps, Compressors, two phase / three phase separators and KODs / Flare KODs
• Check / approve safety calculations pertaining to PSVs, BD valves etc.
• Check / approve process datasheet for Pumps, Compressors and other equipment and packages
• Check / approve process documents line list, HMS and Utility summary
• Check / approve PFD, DPDT, P&IDs, PSFS, HP/LP interface and C&E diagrams
• Prepare / check / approve Control narratives and other philosophies
• Should be conversant with national and international standards (OISD/ASME/API/NFPA etc).
• Prepare / approve reports for dynamic simulation study, transient study, surge study, Minimum Metal Design Temperature (MDMT) study, etc.
• Prepare / approve reports for depressurization studies, flare load estimation and flare system design
• Coordinate with all project and engineering teams for smooth execution of project and to ensure desired process inputs are provided to disciplines to meet the overall project schedule.
• Coordinate / attend project review and 3-D model review meetings with client / vendors
• Should attend safety studies like Hazop / Hazid and SIL assessment and explain the process systems, design intent and available layers of protection to avoid many open points. He / She should be able to optimize the engineering efforts of all team after such safety studies.
• Should be able to perform / check process safety in design and provide recommendations to improve the system.
• Should be able to assess unsafe design and environmental impact due to fugitive losses and emissions. Should be able to provide cost effective solution to client for meeting the statutory and mandatory safety and emission regulations.
• He / she should ensure productivity and efficiency of all teams by envisaging recycle / reworks during the later stages of project by initiating proactive actions at the start of the project.
• In addition to project responsibilities, He / she should be able to support the common and general activities for department like Recruitment, Performance Appraisal, Manpower planning, ISO quality audits, conducting various training programs (internal and external) to the junior engineer teams
• B.Tech / M.Tech (Chemical Engineering)
• Post qualification 15 - 25 years of experience is desirable
• Should have worked in leadership roles in projects of large scale and should have noteworthy achievements in projects with respect to cost saving to clients.
• Should be conversant with national and international standards (OISD/ASME/API/NFPA etc).
• Experience in basic engineering, FEED and Detail engineering projects for Oil & Gas, Refinery and Petrochemical sector for Indian and International clients
