It is a strategic role that needs strong background in leading data modeling efforts on cloud based modern data platform enabling innovative data & AI products. Person with such experience will be responsible to lead an established data model governance service, Common Data Framework (CDF).Responsibilities:

  • Define the standards and guidelines for data model governance.
  • Lead Common Data Framework (CDF) service ensuring data models are compliant to standards, scalable and performant.
  • Maintain cadence with data product teams to ensure their dependencies on CDF team are tracked and resolved.
  • Represent CDF team in PI planning meetings to identify dependencies raised by data product teams.
  • Collaborate with Data Governance team for data cataloging and metadata maintenance along with ensuring enterprise data standards are implemented.
  • Provide strategic consultation to business, data product delivery and enterprise architecture teams for key digital transformation initiatives and process improvements.
  • Define data model maintenance standards and ensure the model repository is maintained accordingly.
  • Collaborate with Architecture team to ensure data security and data storage standards & guidelines are adhered by the data models.
  • Identify and implement capabilities for continuous improvement of CDF service.
Qualifications:
  • 15+ years of hands-on data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical) experience within data and analytics domain with excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in designing and deploying data models in Microsoft Azure platform is required (we are not looking for data engineering skills).
  • Strong experience in Databricks Lakehouse architecture is required along with minimum 2 years of data analysis experience using Azure Databricks.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data modeling tools (preferably Erwin) is required with sound knowledge in model maintenance and governance.
  • Strong knowledge in metadata (business, technical & operational) maintenance and exposure to data catalogue management tools such as Collibra.
  • 3+ years of experience in leading team of data architects and/or data modelers.
  • Strong capabilities to review the data models for completeness, quality, and compliance with established architecture standards.
  • Proficient in documenting and communicating progress against plans, taking corrective action, as necessary.
