Piping Designer Duties & Responsibilities- Autocad/AVEA
Responsibilities for this position include:
Prepare material take-offs including pipe, fittings, valves, to support various cost estimates as required by the project
Performs a permanent check on compliance with the layout rules specific to piping design (distance between runs, position of welds and openings)
Develops the design and drafting of complex piping drawings given basic information such as P&ID's, GA's, piping specifications, equipment arrangement drawings
Coordinate with Piping Engineering Team and other design disciplines to resolve issues
Develop piping models including studies and layouts
Create piping transpositions and manual material take-offs
Reviewing vendor and in-house coordination drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements
Able to extract reports from the modelling software
Review and check bill of material reports extracted from models
Assist in checking when required

Work within a 2D / 3D model environment to produce project specific documents
Develop piping material specifications
Perform pipe wall thickness calculations, piping stress computer analysis
Preparing and reviewing calculations, drawings, specifications, plans and requisitions of structures, systems and equipment
Reviewing design documents from equipment suppliers
Compiling, evaluating, correlating and analyzing data
Performing routine quantity takeoffs
Design criteria documents & change packages
Performing calculations and preliminary analysis to evaluate results
Coordinating work with other technical personnel as directed

• Qualification : Diploma in mechanical engineering/ ITI
• Experience in 3D software like SP3D/ E3D, Capable of 3D modelling and 3D drawing extraction development of Piping detail drawings for the facility projects
• Thorough understanding of Interdisciplinary interfaces 8 - 10 Years of experience with Petroleum Oil and Gas Power Manufacturing Industrial Experience

Responsibility
• Prepare piping layouts and conceptual design problems in 2D and 3D CAD
• Reviews drawings, and vendor equipment documentation, both within the discipline as well as from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements and actively seeks resolution
• Interface with other design disciplines
• Proficient in 2D AutoCAD, MicroStation, SP3D/ E3D, Smart plant review capabilities, as required
• Should be able to work independently and handle an Area along with 4-5 designers/engineers.
• Check moderately complex piping design drawings.
• Conducts reviews of model using the 3D Review platform and creates 3D models of complex plants.
• Applies project drawing standards to design drawings
• Provide guidance and mentorship to lower-classification piping designers.
• Ensure to complete pipe components and run detailed drawings as necessary.
• Review project parameters related to piping requirements.
• Develop preliminary Bills of Materials with respect to piping design.
