Senior Payroll Officer is responsible for overseeing and managing the payroll operations for the company in India. This role ensures that all payroll processes are executed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with local laws and regulations. The Senior Payroll Officer will also provide guidance and support to the payroll Director, handle complex payroll issues, and collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations in India.
### Job Responsibilities
• Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for all employees, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in payroll processing, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or senior role.
• Review and verify payroll data including hours worked, overtime, bonuses, deductions, and benefits.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements including tax filings, provident fund, gratuity, and other labor laws.
• Reconcile various payroll repots, analyze, and conduct research on discrepancies from the source based on payroll register.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity.
• Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and implement improvements.
• Develop and document payroll procedures and policies.
• Assist in bringing resolution to all payroll discrepancies and taking corrective actions to achieve compliance.
• Liaise with external agencies and service providers regarding payroll matters.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations.
• Support audits and provide necessary payroll documentation as required.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting payroll costs.
• Assist external and internal customers with payroll concerns and perform miscellaneous clerical functions and special projects as assigned.
• Review and understand all company policies with respect to those polices that may govern the assigned payroll responsibilities.
• Ad hoc duties and projects as per Payroll Director's requests.

### Any Other Requirements
• Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's/College Degree in Business Management/Administration/Finance/Accounting/Banking.
• In-depth knowledge of Indian payroll laws and regulations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
