Core Payments team collaborates across departments to ensure smooth financial interactions within the Uber ecosystem, operating with the agility and scale that defines Uber\'s services.
• We are hiring for a Core Payments team member who will focus on comprehending, reporting, and optimizing payment fees across the globe. Payment fees refer to the charges Uber incurs during payment acceptance from the spenders and disbursement to earners. The ideal candidate will have a strong inclination towards numerical analysis and practical application of acquired knowledge.

What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points---- What the Candidate Will Do ----

• Analyze and report payment fees incurred across 70+ countries and 40+ Payment Service providers
• Work with the Product, Engineering, Finance and Accounting teams for accurate booking of fees in the P&L on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Work with the payment service providers to optimize the fee reporting and achieve automation wherever possible.
• Build dashboards to identify anomalies and fee changes month over month.
• Maintain regular communications with partners across the organization to ensure alignment on key objectives and expectations.

---- Basic Qualifications ----

• 4+ years of experience at a high-growth tech company or payments company
• Strong knowledge of SQL, and experience with building data visualizations and dashboards.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
• Solid problem solving skills - the ability to break down complex problems and define a plan and the expected outcome.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and ability to drive to consensus with diverse stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of Google Sheets/Excel, Tableau or other analytical tools. Experience with pulling and analyzing data

---- Preferred Qualifications ----

• Strong knowledge of SQL, and experience with building data visualizations and dashboards.
• A Masters in Finance, or experience in the Finance domain.
• Knowledge of the economic, legal, regulatory, and technical trends in the payments industry
• Experience with payments cost analysis is a plus. Familiarity with interchange fee, scheme fees.
