:OverviewThe aim of the Sr. Oracle Developer is to work within a team of developers in the delivery of current and emerging business requirements. You will bring your knowledge, expertise and work ethic in the fast paced environment using Agile/Scrum methodology. This is a hands-on role requiring in-depth knowledge in Oracle Database Server development, project experience and project life cycle.Specific emphasis will be on:

  • Solution Development
  • Oracle Server Database technology

Key Accountabilities and main responsibilitiesStrategic Focus
  • To strive for continuous improvement of both technical and business knowledge
  • To assist with the development of new team standards, methodologies and processes to increase both the quality and efficiency of the development work
Operational Management
  • Responsibility to develop quick to market, high quality IT solutions within an agile environment
  • This will require full project exposure from start up to completion
  • Extremely adaptable and quick to pick up new business concepts within a unique business environment
  • Engage proactively with stakeholders and other cross-functional team members in the development of IT solutions
People Leadership
  • Work within a team of developers assisting in:
  • time estimates
  • task allocations
  • problem solving
  • Provision of regular feedback, mentoring, coaching and assistance to the team\'s development needs
Governance & Risk
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements
  • Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices
Experience & Personal Attributes
  • 6 to 9 years development experience with Oracle Database version 9i /10g / 11g /12c
  • Manage all phases of the SDLC from analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance.
Primary Skills:
  • Create and maintain indexes, constraints, tables, PL/SQL store procedures & packages and produce queries to answer business questions.
  • Create numerous simple to complex queries involving self joins, correlate sub-queries, functions, cursors, dynamic SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of T-SQL / PL-SQL
  • Package creation and maintenance

  • Database backup and recovery
  • DECLARE, BEGIN & EXCEPTION clause
  • Designing databases and ensuring their stability, reliability, and performance.
  • Design, create, and implement database systems based on the end user\'s requirements.
  • Improve application\'s performances.
  • Prepare documentations for database applications.
  • Memory management for database systems.
  • Develop database schemas, tables and dictionaries.
  • Ensure the data quality and integrity in databases.
  • Fix any issues related to database performance and provide corrective measures.
  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
  • Take regular database backup.
  • Test databases and perform bug fixes.
  • Provide authentication and authorizations for Database
  • Develop best practices for database design and development activities.
  • Good understanding of data modelling and database schema design principals
  • Data normalization
  • Knowledge of database optimization techniques
  • Exceptional analytical skills in order to analyse and interpret business needs, and to provide constructive input into the development and technology solutions
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodology
Secondary Skills:
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, e.g. Microsoft Azure, AWS
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to develop effective inter-departmental and organisational relationships
  • Sound organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Self-motivated with a strong team spirit. Strong work ethic
