GCS IT (Global Corporate Services Information Technology) plays a critical role in supporting the entire technology ecosystem, security framework, and application landscape of the firm. Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our GCS India team. This position reports to the Manager of Infrastructure and Operations. This role works collaboratively with respective peers and team members to complete key initiatives and projects that improve the overall support, implementation, and integration of Infrastructure Technologies. A senior network engineer is a highly skilled professional responsible for implementing and maintaining an organization\'s network infrastructure. They play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of network infrastructure and ensuring high levels of performance, security, and availability. Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Network Implementation: Configure and deploy network equipment and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, VPNs, and other network devices. Collaborate with GCS teams to ensure proper integration with existing systems and applications. Network Maintenance and Monitoring: Perform regular network maintenance tasks, such as firmware upgrades, patch management, and performance optimization. Monitor network performance, capacity, and security to proactively identify and resolve issues, ensuring high availability and performance. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve network-related incidents, outages, and performance issues. Use network monitoring tools, diagnostic techniques, and collaboration with other IT teams to identify and rectify problems in a timely manner. Network Documentation: Create and maintain detailed network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and other relevant documentation. Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation for future reference and knowledge sharing. Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with other GCS IT teams, such as system administrators, security analysts, and application developers, to ensure seamless integration of network infrastructure with other systems. Research and Evaluation: Stay updated with the latest networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Evaluate new products, technologies, and methodologies to enhance network capabilities and performance, making recommendations for adoption when appropriate. Change Management: Plan and execute network changes, including configuration modifications, network upgrades, and system integrations, following established change management processes and minimizing disruption to network services. Required Skills & Attributes: Overall, 8-10 years of experience with at least 6-7 years of experience in managing a medium level Enterprise IT Operations environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare technical documentation. A strong understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, OSI model, routing, switching, subnetting, VLANs, and firewall concepts. Hands-on experience with Software-Defined Wide Area Networking (SD-WAN) solutions and technologies. A deep understanding of various routing protocols with proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting routing protocols like BGP (Border Gateway Protocol). Proficiency in managing Check Point or similar firewall devices. This includes configuring firewall rules, VPN tunnels, NAT (Network Address Translation), security policies, threat prevention, and troubleshooting firewall-related issues. Proficiency in network troubleshooting and performance optimization using network monitoring and diagnostic tools. Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud networking (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. project management skills may be required to plan, execute, and deploy SD-WAN and network security projects. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CCIE) are a plus.
