As the Network Engineer, you\'ll be tasked with defining the network standards - along with the latest network technologies - for our network setup and supervising network concepts for various digital solutions used in Swiss Re.About the TeamThe Network Connectivity Team is the focal point for all network activities across Swiss Re. We are responsible for network engineering and operations, within all network areas services (e.g. SD-WAN, Cloud Connectivity, Security Services, LAN & Wi-Fi, DDI, Load balancers) globally. We define and advance the company\'s network strategy. We\'re looking for an expert network engineer who is familiar with network concepts and practices. We operate the Swiss Re core IT infrastructure platforms which always always connect people with people as well as people with technology globally and at all times.About the Role

• As the Senior Network Engineer, you will act as a Subject Matter Expert for our global network footprint and you will have a chance to work on cutting-edge solutions used by all Swiss Re employees worldwide.
• You will support the existing engineering team in their daily work and take over the responsibility in service design and transition to deliver a constantly improving, cost efficient and highly available service.
• Provide expert technical assistance for issues that cannot be resolved within operations and reviews product and integration architecture.
• Interact with the outsourcing partner(s) to ensure that they develop, validate, and support the solutions required by Swiss Re and meet Swiss Re security and networking standards)
• Look for different and better ways of doing things and actively bringing them up with improvement proposals (network programmability and automation)

Formal / Technical Skills:

• Extensive experience in network design, implementation, and support
• Strong analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills relating to networking and security implementations.
• Ability to carry out detailed network and security analyses (troubleshooting, developing optimization proposals etc.)
• Methodical and systematic approach towards gathering requirements, designing solutions, documentation, and communication; ability to assess the marketplace (understand what is out there); ability to translate requirements into solutions.
• Experience with cloud services (Azure) is a plus.

Network Technologies

• Deep understanding of network infrastructure and experience with F5 Load Balancing, DDI (DNS, DHCP, IPAM), Datacenter LAN infrastructure, LAN/WAN/SD-WAN technologies
• Strong knowledge of network security, e.g. Palo Alto, Cisco ISE, Cisco ACI knowledge a plus.
• Automation tooling knowledge a plus
