JD for the post - Sr. Mechanical Engineer


Job Title: Sr. Engineer


Location: Kolkata


Primary Job Responsibilities:

Graduate Mechanical engineers with 20 to 25 years of experience in Mechanical Department of a consultancy organization and/or technical services department of a Metal / Mineral / Chemical Processing plant.


• Capable to mentor, lead and guide a group of Mechanical Engineers & Designers and able to take decision independently.


• Capable to work independently and should have worked as Lead Engineer in at least 4-5 projects with a mechanical team of 6-8 people.


• Capable to handle large or medium scale project and responsible for technical and resources planning as well as keep tab on budget, quality and schedule.
• Hands on Basic & Detailed Engineering Experience consisting of Bulk Material Handling & Conveyors for Australian / European / Overseas projects.


• Knowledge of Conveyor Power Calculation as per ISO/ CEMA/ DIN / IS, Selection of Belt width, Belt Speed, Selection of Conveyor Component etc.
• Knowledge with Pipe conveyor / Long distance conveyor / finite element analysis will be an added advantage


• In depth knowledge and capable for preparation of Technical Specification, Tender Bid Evaluation and review of Vendor drawings / document independently for Mineral Beneficiation Equipment like, Mills, Cyclone, Floatation Cell, Sizers, Thickener, Filter Press etc. including Material Handling Equipment, Pumps, Compressors.
• Good Knowledge of Material Science and should be conversant with national, international codes and standards, like ASME / API / BS / EN etc.
• Supporting discipline functional activities e.g. training, recruiting, providing technical solutions across projects etc


• Knowledge of various 3D review software platform.


• Orientation to working in workshare environments with overseas office.


• Understanding of Project requirements like productivity/ schedule workhour control etc.


• Capable of interacting with all stakeholders including Inter discipline, client and vendors.


• Good communication skills, verbal and written so as to communicate with client and lead offices.

Qualifications- A degree in Mechanical engineering from a reputed university.


• Good Presentation Skills.


• Good spoken and written English language skills, communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• Mention any professional affiliations/certifications.


• Should be open for short travel and deputation to sites/ Overseas Offices where required.


• Mention near term mobility readiness.
