Job Description

Purpose of the RoleTo ensure availability of machinery spares, Service engineer support, repair of items from outside source, cash purchase of spares, fulfilling statutory requirements, calibration of instruments for total plant. Consumption and inventory control. Development of alternate sources & Import substitution for cost saving.Job ResponsibilityAvailability of Machinery spares

• Prepare the budget for the machinery spares( for both the manufacturing and utilities departments)
• Allocate the budget amongst various shops & utility areas based on previous consumption patterns & planned future requirements
• Co-ordinate with the shop maintenance team with respect to their spares requirements(in case of new parts) on a daily basis
• Study the spares specifications to identify and categorize standard spare parts in order to optimize cost of spares
• Resolve issues relating to discrepancies in part number generation in case of escalations
• Interact with spare part vendors for availability of spares, up gradations & part number discrepancies on a periodic basis
• Processing of spares requirements as per the budget availability in respective areas.
• Follow up and arrange the urgent material required for breakdown.
• Arrange the service engineer for resolving breakdown.
• Monitor the inventory levels in order to control the inventory cost for machine spares on a monthly basis
• Provide inputs in case of repairs/service of expensive spares and take necessary decisions regarding replacements (if required)
• Review the budget incurrence for machine spares and highlight to concerned departments in case of non-adherence to plan on a quarterly basis
• Arranging spares from other plants on STO.
• Arranging spars on cash memo
• Making engg drawings for required parts
• Cost saving through import substitution, alternate source and repairs.
• Participate in Kaizen events for quality/process improvements.
• Review and maintain min max level of spares

New Projects & Expansions

• Get shop and machine/equipment layout
• Get Bill of material for each equipment
• Prepare consumable, insurance, critical, capital spares list
• Send enquires and get offer for spares.
• Get budget for procurement of spares.
• Check and prepare part numbers for the required items.
• Process PR for procurement of items.
• Follow up with supplier for early dispatch of the items.

Statutory requirement, Licence

• Make availability of wireless licence for AGV.
• Fulfilment of Statutory requirement of weights and measure.

Audits

• Review the status of various documents (records of calibration, statutory & safety requirements of equipment\xe2\x80\x99s etc) for various internal and external audits.
• Follow up with the area in charges for closure of non- conformities highlighted during the audit inspections along with necessary supporting documents in a timely manner.

Others

• Support the supplier (Vendor Park) in preparation of gate pass for work in factory premises.
• Support for supplier payment with finance.
