Activities may include undertaking research; evaluating the legality and tax effectiveness of current and future business activities; preparing and submitting tax returns, tax declarations, and other required reports; maintaining tax records; and corresponding with external tax agencies or consultants.This role in summaryManage the Indirect Tax for Whirlpool of India for PAN India, Managing a team of 8-10 membersYour responsibilities will includeBuild a risk free , compliant and responsive organization from long term perspectiveLead all Indirect Taxation matters of the company such as VAT/CST, Goods and Service Tax ( GST ) etcActing as an advisory function for all the Business units / Verticals on GST,Drafting / reviewing of Writ / appeals with Tribunal , High court and Supreme courtTax planning- Formation and implementation of Tax -efficient strategies.Responsible for Procedural compliance with Tax laws such as filing of periodical returns, replies/ submissions to enquiries from the department & issuance of Withholding Tax CertificatesObtaining various registrations & amendments; forms and appearing for assessmentsMonitoring & advising on preparation for various assessments and litigation proceeding with tax authoritiesWork closely with Tax officers & external consultants on various Assessment & Appellate proceedings and make submissions or giving the necessary directions and information to consultants, as may be necessary from time to time.Responsible for giving various tax advice to internal customers on various matters such GST/ VAT implications on special projects, procurement / Logistics Marketing etc.Minimum requirementsEducational Background - B.Com with CA or ICWAI or CS or LLB12+ years of extensive experience into Taxation, Litigation, Compliances, Corporate Tax, Tax Audit etcPreferred skills and experiencesStrong leadership and managerial skills;Excellent relationship management and communication skills necessary for interaction with the various authorities and negotiating parties;Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with government and/or commercial contract administration and negotiation, preparation and administration;Ability to provide independent advice (orally and in writing) on technical matters;Connect with us and learn more about Whirlpool CorporationSee what it\'s like to work at Whirlpool by visiting .
