About the Role
This position will work in the Process Automation Center of Excellence (PACE) and reports to Director - Process Automation and Continuous Improvement. The role will lead process discovery and analysis to assess and validate operational excellence opportunities using both Lean Six Sigma and process automation technologies. In addition, the role will also support the PACE leaders to build strategic roadmap and the new technology capabilities in PACE. The role will work very closely with the Digital Business Solutions (DBS) and Operations teams to utilize emerging automation technologies such as Robotic Process Automation, Business Process Management and Machine learning/AI to support business strategies and improve business processes by delivering process automation solutions that meet or exceed enterprise quality and security requirements.
Essential requirements:
BS, BE, BTech, BCom or BA degree. Advanced qualifications/certifications in Lean Six Sigma - Green or Black Belt and/or Project Management preferred - PMP, PRINCE2 etc
At least 10 years of work experience in process re-engineering, Operational/Process Excellence using Lean Six Sigma tools and automation technologies such RPA
Facilitation of workshops and improvement events involving cross-functional teams
Experience of building and growing automation centre of excellence
Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills, high emotional intelligence, and proven ability influence cross-functionally and at all levels and to thrive in a high growth, global, virtual environment is essential
Ability to challenge the status quo, and work under ambiguous circumstances
Strong execution ability and a sense of urgency.
Highly numerate and strong IT skills (Data analysis, visualisation and presentation tools)
Experience working in an agile environment (e.g. user stories, iterative development, etc.).
Main Activities and Responsibilities
Process discovery and build quality automation pipeline (60%)
Collaborate with Operational Units Automation Leads to identify and prioritize areas, workflows and processes suitable for automation and build a solid pipeline of automation opportunities.
Lead assessment of new process automation opportunities through process demos, process mapping, analysis, validating and signing off business benefits from senior leadership
Support/co-facilitate process discovery workshops involving DBS and Operations teams to carry out deep dives of the process flows.
Use problem-solving, critical thinking skills, and independent thinking to overcome process challenges.
Continuously identify opportunities and collaborate with the DBS and Operations teams to improve the operating model of PACE.
Support a strategic roadmap (20%)
Support PACE leaders to develop a strategic roadmap for process automation.
Support automation strategy workshops at Operations and Operational Unit levels
Support communications strategy that aligns messages in three directions - top down, horizontal and most critically bottom up as employees share new ways of improving automation program.
Leverage and reuse technology, process, best practices, knowledge and solution assets.
Continuously assess regional and international trends in automation and drive adoption of new tools and techniques by partnering with Technology and relevant Operational teams.
Deliver automation solutions on time and at the required quality (10%)
Manage the delivery of key automation projects pipeline throughout its lifecycle: solution design, development, testing and deployment.
Work in collaboration with DBS and Operations to deliver high quality automation solutions on time.
Proactively anticipate roadblocks, and work with the key project stakeholders to remove the roadblocks.
Ensure clear and early communication, in particular ensuring that senior stakeholder and/or relevant parties are kept informed of progress, issues and difficulties.
Proactively work to mitigate risks, improve quality in an efficient manner and resolve problems that arise.
Help ensure adherence to best practice solutions by working closely with DBS teams.
Track and report automation benefits (10%)
Ensure automation program benefits are accurately captured and reported through the lifecycle of automation projects (from idea generation, solution design, development, and post-deployment).
Track progress of annual priorities and goals against automation program KPIs.
Set up and report the utilization of bots to validate actual benefits and identify further bot enhancement opportunities.
