Location(s): IndiaCity/Cities: AhmedabadTravel Required:Relocation Provided:Job Posting End Date: June 13, 2024Shift: Summary:Senior Manager, Operational ExcellenceCPS (Commercial Products Supply) manufactures concentrates and beverage bases for sale to Coca-Cola bottling partners all over the world. This global organization manages a network of 19 manufacturing plants in 17 countries.We are establishing a Greenfield manufacturing facility near Ahmedabad in India. This state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will be built according to Industry 5.0 principles, featuring advanced automation and digitization. To deliver this, we are hiring a highly competent and motivated Operational Excellence (OE) Leader. Your initial focus will be building capability of the workforce using LEAN principles through targeted training programs that accelerate building capability. You will also implement LEAN principles throughout the design and startup phases. As the Greenfield starts up, you\'ll transition to driving continuous improvement and operational excellence across the entire CPS plant.POSITION OVERVIEW

  • Define, facilitate and lead the development and implementation of lean-driven Operational Excellence strategies, to build OE culture and capabilities including mindsets and behaviors in CPS Sanand.
  • Lead capability development and certification programs in CPS Sanand to develop and train all levels of associates in the use of OE and 6 Sigma, processes, tools and methodologies, while integrating futuristic techniques of training.
  • Define and implement effective training and development strategies and programs for associates to build organizational capability, ensure corporate and regulatory compliance and achieve organizational performance.
  • Post startup, lead proactively in identifying and executing productivity improvement opportunities and value creation initiatives across the plant operating functions and also with OUs, customers and suppliers on key initiatives.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe initial focus of the role will be building capability of the associates so that we can achieve accelerated training leading to a vertical start-up.OE Capability Building and Development
  • Provide inputs to other workstreams (operations, Warehouse etc.) to incorporate OE principles to have the right design and layout to minimise NVA and WASTE.
  • Develop and implement OE culture improvement plans (per guidance of central OE team) to ensure the right programs, tools and processes are rolled out at CPS Sanand during start-up
  • Coach and train CPS Sanand associates at all levels on OE principles, systems, tools and methodologies. This includes also 6 Sigma systems and tools.
  • Identify CPS Sanand capability gaps relating to OE and make recommendations and plans to close those gaps.
Training and Development
  • Develop and execute strategy for capability building for all associates of Sanand greenfield plant to ensue vertical start-up
  • Work with OEMs and suppliers to develop digital training modules/program to ensure quick and effective onboarding of new employees
  • Develop training interventions and solutions to build organizational capability in CPS Sanand.
  • Conduct training needs analysis, develop annual training and development plan including corporate and regulatory training requirements to meet business needs.
  • Support and/or facilitate training programs for people managers and associates.
  • Develop and deliver sustainable and comprehensive OE training and development curriculum in partnership across all functions.
The ongoing focus for the role will be to drive operational excellence. This includes.Partnering and Value Creation
  • Conduct Voice of the Customer (internal and external) analysis, focus group discussions, structured interviews, and research to identify potential areas for improvement in support of strategies.
  • Connect with Supply Chain to manage customer (business leaders, teams) expectations and ensure execution of Operational Excellence programs and projects against customer needs.
  • Work closely with CPS Sanand Plant GM and Leadership Team to understand and develop business strategy and jointly develop value creation initiatives for the system, that positively impact our business.
  • Maintain linkages with Centre OE and global OE team members to provide inputs and understand recent developments on OE.
  • Provides internal consulting and services on all matters relating to Operational Excellence for CPS Sanand.
Implementation of OE Key programs and Program Management Office
  • Ensure CPS Sanand comply with agreed OE standards.
  • Define and implement a robust CPS Sanand assessment plan to bring all functions in the plant to the required OE maturity levels.
  • Ensure discipline in the application of OE systems, tools and techniques for continuous improvement across CPS Sanand.
  • Deliver on regional and global OE initiatives, keeping closely connected on recent OE developments and current thinking.
  • Develop, communicate and implement OE strategies and programs, including the development of the continuous improvement standards, infrastructure, recognition program to build value creation culture.
  • Refine strategies, programs or approach as appropriate and develop annual business plans.
  • Develop and implement standard processes throughout CPS Sanand, including training on and implementation of approved process improvements.
Performance Management
  • Develop metrics to monitor that Operational Excellence efforts deliver significant value and productivity improvements in a sustainable manner.
  • Establish PMO routines to drive improvements including coaching on OE approach, principles, and methodologies.
  • Communicate to teams both within and outside CPS Sanand on OE plans, progress, and ongoing activities.
  • Improve organizational effectiveness and efficiency by establishing cross-functional objectives, metrics and timelines with internal and external suppliers and customers (end-to-end processes).
  • Benchmark with other Lean companies, including customers and professional organizations, to share best practice and improve operational performance.
QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE
  • About 8-10 years of Food and/or Manufacturing integrated environment work experience with a minimum 3-5 years of leading Lean/Operational Excellence.
  • Accreditation in LEAN and/or 6 Sigma (ideally Black Belt) and implementation experience required.
  • Proven Lean/OE project implementation leadership experience.
  • Project Management experience (in multi-cultural setting) is highly preferred.
  • Digital savviness and experience in highly digitized and automated manufacturing plant is a significant advantage.
  • Proven track record in managing and developing people and delivering results.
  • University Degree in engineering, MBA qualification desirable
  • Significant Project Management experience required for implementing LEAN programs, certification is preferred.
