Job Description

Responsible for the implementation of various goals and targets applicable to the areas/ sections where working and day-to-day monitoring of the results of the same. Review of the same in the respective areas and reporting the results. Safety - Drive Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) initiatives to achieve zero Fatality and limit LTI within the target. Ensure safety requirements like SOP-s, Positive isolation, adherence to standards are in place and being practiced. Plan, monitor and review the performance of pollution control systems and equipment Identification of possible hazards/emergency situations and its mitigation plan. Periodic review of the preparedness for the same Facilitating the implementation of legal requirement monitoring system and its periodic review for the compliance. Production - Reliable equipment performance to lower the equipment interruptions through effective use of condition monitoring techniques, improved maintenance practices. Ensure equipment availability through analysis of chronic problems, identification of root cause and implementation of the short term and long term preventive actions/recommendations. Identification and debottlenecking of constraint equipment\'s to subordinate production Implementation and review of the maintenance management system.(SAP, CMMS) Effective planning, execution and review of monthly/major shutdown activities of the department. Identification and implementation of measures to improve employee productivity People development - Education and Implementation of various TQM initiatives in the respective units Mentor the employees as per their technical and managerial need to support the future requirement of unit. Understanding and addressing the issues of employees to keep the people motivated. Driving and implementation of special initiatives taken by the organization (Special campaigns, innovate, TBEM etc.) SLA - Regular & Periodic review with customers to understand and meet their requirements Providing technical Support to the new plants for better equipment selection, commissioning and ramp up. Cost & budget Optimise maintenance cost Plan and control the procurement of stores and spares to keep the inventory levels within target. Review of critical spare planning Identification and evaluation of vendors, periodic review of vendor\'s performance and capability building as per the gaps identified. Skills . Awareness of all the safety standards and plant-specific hazards and legal requirements. . Fundamentals of mechanical maintenance practices. Troubleshooting capability, Knowledge of failure mode effect analysis/Control plan (FMEA/CP). . Resource management capability. . Awareness of sectional quality objectives and plan. . Awareness and active participation in all TQM initiatives. . Deployment of special/corporate level initiatives. Other details Degree in Mechanical Engineering Experience working in Mechanical Maintenance activities of Steel Plant.
