About the role:
As Senior Manager - Management Accounts, you will lead our finance team based in India, utilising your extensive experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership.Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role requires strong managerial skills, a deep understanding of financial principles, a proven track record of driving excellence in financial operations, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Main responsibilities & duties:
Lead and manage the team of management accountants, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional development
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the management accounting team, including general ledger management, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cost categorisations, and cash posting
Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and provide strategic financial insights to support decision-making
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in financial processes and systems
Act as a key liaison between finance and other departments, fostering strong relationships and promoting effective communication and collaboration
Provide leadership and direction in the execution of transformational finance projects, driving innovation and change management initiatives
Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls, implementing measures to mitigate risks and ensure adherence to standards
Participate in strategic planning and budgeting processes, providing financial analysis and recommendations to support business objectives
Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key performance indicators and variance analysis
Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement
Act as a subject matter expert on financial matters, providing guidance and support to the finance team and other stakeholders as needed
About you:
Candidates with relevant leadership experience within a large-scale or multinational pharmaceutical company, manufacturing industry or similar commercial background are likely to have the skills required to be successful in this role. We are also looking for:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional certification such as CA, CMA, or equivalent
Progressive experience in management accounting, financial reporting, and team management, preferably in a manufacturing or multinational environment
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team
Expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
Extensive experience in managing general ledger activities, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and cost accounting
Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and proficiency in MS Excel
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Proven track record of driving process improvements and implementing best practices to optimise financial operations
Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail
Demonstrated integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in all aspects of work
