Data Governance Consultant - Unity Catalog - Job Summary: Data Governance (DG) Consultant is responsible for providing technical leadership to guide strategic customers to successful implementations on Unity Catalog and Delta Sharing, ranging from advisory and design to deployment to troubleshooting Responsibilities: Build and support solutions for Data governance in popular tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. to enable data cataloguing, meta data management, and data lineage of the enterprise\'s applications and data sources. Understand Unity Catalog object model and map it to the organizations existing metastores Understand the built-in roles and identity concepts in Databricks, and map those to fit organizational requirements Communicate and educate stakeholders on organizational models of governance Enable enterprise level integration of metadata stores for the business users to search and understand information by developing standard business glossaries and data dictionaries Support in implementing a solution for Data Cataloguing with a Data governance tool to establish clear data ownership along with access control management Ensure sensitive data is protected in rest and in transit through data masking, encryption, etc Exposure to encryption key management (on-premise and cloud) tools Support in designing and deploying Data Analytics solutions on Azure using Azure native services like ADLS, ADF, Azure Functions, Synapse with particular focus on Databricks Preferred Qualification: Experience in upgrading organizations existing identity management, hive metastores and workloads to Unity Catalog object model Experience in a technical lead role with expertise in Data Governance and Data Management Experience with metadata management, data cataloguing, and mapping data lineage in popular DG tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc. and integrating with Unity Catalog Proven expertise in identity federation and delta sharing Experience in creating Metamodel, business glossaries, data dictionaries etc Experience in integrating Data governance tools with multiple data sources (Cloud data sources, BI tools, etc.) Experience in delivering analytics solutions using Databricks Extremely proficient in SQL, Python and PySpark Experience & Skills Required: Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other related fields or an equivalent combination of education and experience 4+ years of experience in data management space with 2+ years of hands-on experience utilizing tools like Collibra, Informatica, Alation, etc to implement Data governance programs Hands on experience in using Azure Databricks - Unity Catalog tool Strong problem solving and analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy Proven ability to work with business stakeholders and leaders to identify and align on workable business solutions to data privacy requirements and challenges Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection Demonstrated consulting skills, with change management concepts and strategies
