Role Responsibilities
  • Overall end-to-end responsibility for P2P accounting including Reporting, Month End Close, internal, and external Audit query management, etc.
  • Overall responsibility for maintaining the relevant Financial Controls working in partnership with the Controls teams and other relevant teams.
  • Provide insights to the finance leadership any risks to financial position and/or financial performance where applicable.
  • In the absence of the line manager act as the proxy with the senior leadership and other partners.
  • Make independent decisions with confidence when leading the team and driving the process.
  • Ensure that the teams adhere to Group policies.
  • Work with multiple collaborators to coordinate the external and internal Audits to meet the Group Audit timelines.
  • Providing leadership and mentorship to ensure that all transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner according to the Group reporting timetable.
  • Define and implement SOPs for all related processes, standardising the accounting process across all divisions, and provide mentorship to relevant team members.
  • Define and agree SLAs with key partners, including critical metrics where applicable, and lead performance.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain outstanding global processes.
  • Lead delivery and performance of any external service providers/contractors, where relevant, in line with the overall delivery of critical metrics/SLAs
  • Proactively lead the performance of the team to drive accuracy and targets of all the tasks including accurate, timely completion and review of reconciliations on Blackline where applicable.
  • Maintain strong controls ensuring all group policies and statutory requirements are delivered by the team. Elevate the relevancy and timeliness of the control environment.
  • Provide guidance to different teams to accurately account for and to report significant, complex, and non-routine transactions related to the function.
  • Build positive relationships with Divisional and/or regional collaborators from business and other functions to maintain an understanding of operational business processes that impact accounting and financial reporting processes and internal controls, and drive improvements in data quality of items posted to the ledgers.
  • Build an environment of continuous improvement that ensures process flows and standard operating procedures are both kept current and reviewed, and constantly enhanced and improved.
  • Building a strong team within the Finance CoE, including talent development, talent retention and hiring.
  • Provide insights to the continuous finance transformation where applicable including active participation and involvement in the Finance Systems transformation project.
  • Work closely with all collaborators (E.g. business partners, legal entity controllers, divisional controllership teams) to ensure DSO are achieved for finance and finance CoE
  • Ensure self and team are always on top of all relevant accounting standards and policies.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Qualification in Accounting / Degree or a similar qualification a with experience of 10+ years in shared services environment and/or in matrix organizations.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with a proven track record and ability to interpret the correct accounting treatments in complex scenarios.
  • In depth experience and knowledge of the P2P accounting and control processes together with exposure in working with local/global P2P accounting teams.
  • Experience in leading/ working with teams in different geographical locations would be an added advantage.
  • Capable of learning and adapting new tools and technologies in driving standard processes and efficiencies.
  • Prior experience of a similar role working in a multination organization and in a shared service environment and/or in matrix organizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact expertly with a diverse group of collaborators, senior managers, and experts in the subject matters.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools with exposure to Power BI, Microsoft Visio and other MS Office Packages being an added advantage
  • Strong Analytical, process oriented, good communication and presentation skills
  • Hands on experience working with SAP and/ or Oracle Financial Systems
  • Expertise in \'Cash Out\' process in a global multi-currency context.
  • Experience in finance transformation projects including ERP implementation and process insourcing/ outsourcing.
  • Timeline oriented, good time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work according to different time zones and calendars where needed.
