About the Role


As ADVANZ PHARMA continues to strengthen its position as the partner of choice for specialty, hospital, and rare disease medicines, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel.


What You'll Do:
• Support the Head of Legal (APAC and LAMEA) and the General Counsel in relation to the following activities of the global business: legal and compliance.
• Take primary responsibility for all contracts and legal issues (including drafting, negotiation and disputes) arising out of the business units ("BU") that form part of Global Operations ("Global Ops") and Transformation Office ("TO"), checking material points with the Head of Legal (APAC and LAMEA) and the General Counsel where necessary.
• Act as primary legal representative to Global Ops and TO, providing clear, concise and practical legal advice on issues and contracts, providing and giving Compliance training as needed, ensuring that questions are understood and are answered properly, helping to ensure that the Legal department is consulted where appropriate.
• Act as secondary legal representative to other BU's, as agreed from time to time with the Head of Legal (APAC and LAMEA), providing those BU's with clear, concise and practical legal advice on issues and contracts, providing and giving Compliance training, ensuring that questions are understood and are answered properly, helping to ensure that the Legal department is consulted where appropriate.
• Provide other support and assistance to the General Counsel and Head of Legal (APAC and LAMEA) to ensure the Company's Legal and Compliance department functions efficiently and effectively.
• Business partner and legal counsel to Global Ops, to the Vice-President of Sourcing, Procurement and Supplier Development ("SAM") business unit, and to other SAM professionals.
• Business partner and legal counsel Global Ops, to the Vice-President of the Global Supply Chain ("Supply Chain") business unit and to other Supply Chain professionals.
• Business partner and legal counsel to the TO and to TO professionals, as needed.
• Provide legal support to Global Ops and Supply Chain in relation to commercial contracts with third parties including negotiating, drafting and advising on the terms and risks of commercial contracts across all business activities.
• Provide legal support to the TO during the integration of acquired assets, and certain other projects, coordinating with the appropriate Legal Team members, as appropriate.
• Provide support to Global Ops, the TO and the wider business on other legal issues that may arise such as contract interpretation, disputes, litigation, intellectual property, data protection, company secretarial and compliance generally etc.
• Monitor developments in legislation and industry practice affecting the business functions and assist with communication and Implementation of necessary changes. Identify and minimize risks to the businesses Identified as a result of such developments.
• Assist the General Counsel in ensuring Group Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
• Support global projects and other global business units, as required.
• Support the business in M&A and business development activities, including the provision of due diligence on Global Ops matters and the development of integration strategies.

About You
We are looking for highly motivated individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference to patients' lives.
For this role, you will also have the following:
Qualifications:
• Graduate or post-Grad Law degree
• Law school or Bar School qualified
• Practising Solicitor/Barrister
• Post-graduate qualifications in Pharma/IP/Anti-trust is desirable




Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


• Legal training in quality law firm or company in-house legal department
• Significant experience in quality law firm and/or company in-house legal department in the pharmaceutical industry with a focus on the manufacturing and supply chain
• Through knowledge of corporate and commercial law x
• International experience, including Europe and North America
• Intellectual Property experience
• Anti-trust/Competition law experience
• English language - high level of competence in both written and spoken
• Multitasker - ability to handle a broad workload
• Financially literate
• Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel)
• Strong presentation Skills
• Attention to detail
• Sense of urgency/ willingness to operate within tight deadlines
• Ability to work with colleagues across a broad range of disciplines and functions
• Self-confidence with the ability to challenge others
• Adaptability to frequently changing priorities
