This role will take end to end ownership of the JAMF/macOS environment inclusive of engineering global end to end solutions to secure, deploy, and manage new and previously enrolled devices across multiple geographic regions. The engineer will write and take full ownership of the underlying code that is utilized for consistent and secure execution of common tasks, and macOS platform engineering.The role will be required to work on a flexible rota, being available from 8am to 8pm weekdays, including telephone support and regular onsite support at weekends and for other out of hours production work, including any On Call / Rota system that is required.

  • Background showcasing innovative thought and out of the box thinking in systems administration
  • Ability to manage complex technical challenges across multiple organizations and stakeholders
  • Must have strong Mac, Apple and JAMF technical architecture experience, providing customer service focused MacOS and JAMF solution design
  • The successful applicant will be a macOS and JAMF Subject Matter Expert/Architect
  • Must have MacOS solution design experience and Zero Touch deployment using JAMF Pro
  • Develop the underlying code that will be the foundation of the JAMF Infrastructure
  • Architect, Engineer, and Implement fully redundant highly available enterprise grade solutions across multiple geographic regions
  • Manage and update a large software estate utilising VPP, Configuration Profiles, packaging, and scripts for bespoke solutions for deployment via JAMF AWS CDN.
  • Developing effective MDM policies, provisioning profiles, and configuration profiles for macOS and iOS devices
  • Developing and maintaining efficient methods for ongoing automated collection of accurate MDM device inventory data and smart groups
  • Work closely with Service Desk staff to build solutions to endpoint requirements in addition to developing and optimizing the enterprise Self Service portal
  • Help guide, troubleshoot, and maintain Apple Device Enrolment Program (DEP/ADE) enrolment
  • Design and maintain complex build workflows for seamless device deployment
  • Create processes for the purpose of efficient asset management and control
  • Carry out technical project work under direction of senior systems team staff.
  • Document new internal IT process and procedures and maintain existing documentation
  • Monitor and administer critical systems to ensure correct function
  • Contribute to regular technical departmental planning meetings.
  • Liaise with third party suppliers and vendors as required.
Operations/BAU:
  • Perform routine audits of systems and software
  • Manage and resolve IT and Systems technical media production issues as they arise.
Continuous Improvement/Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure all systems are integrated into the global management, monitoring and performance testing systems
  • Performance reporting
  • Perform on-going performance tuning, hardware upgrades and resource optimisation as required
  • Analyse problematic systems and identify causes and rectify issues (L2/L3 escalations).
  • Implement security standards and best practices.
  • Ensure regular software and hardware maintenance is performed with minimum downtime.
  • Repair and recover hardware and software failures
  • Deploy and configure new hardware and software services as required, both on prem and in cloud.
Innovation and Strategic Planning:
  • Research and recommend innovations and automations for system engineering and administration tasks
Reporting lines and key stakeholdersThis role reports to the You will work closely with the Production Engineering Team and WPPIT. In addition, you will support all print, digital and moving image production teams.Essential Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years\' experience supporting MACs and working with JAMF in an enterprise environment
  • 5 years JAMF Pro experience
  • 2+ years O365 Intune experience with emphasis on compliance for Mac
  • JAMF Certified Expert Certification or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly communicate steps to resolve end user\'s issues
  • Strong macOS in an Active Directory Environment
  • Ubuntu or Centos admin experience.
  • Familiarity with scripting language such as Bash, Python
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability and desire to take ownership, seeing tasks and projects through to satisfaction and completion.
  • This role will require occasional evening and weekend work, sometimes at short notice.
Desirable Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Apple Certifications (for example ACSP, ACTC, ACSA, ACS, ACMA)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience imaging Apple Mac devices (JAMF, or other Apple imaging tools and processes)
  • Proven ability to document issue resolution for service desk knowledge base
  • ITIL exposure
  • Previous experience with OKTA
  • Experience working with JAMF Connect
  • Experience using both Jira and Confluence
