Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Senior IT Analyst Applications to join our CAT Informational Technology team based in India.The preference for this role is to be based out of Bangalore - Caterpillar PSNThe role is to assist Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) Retail Genset business as a Solution Lead, liaising between IT and various worldwide business units in the development, modification, and use of information systems within the Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Data, Business Analytics and Finance functions. Specific focus will be on developing a detailed understanding of the supply chain and manufacturing landscapes, with the goals to identify and deploy IT Strategic solutions to the global REPS business, whilst also working as the key business liaison to support them in operational needs. Understanding the current enterprise and divisional technology solutions available to identify a digital supply chain, data accessibility and factory strategy would be key to supporting the business meet their short-, mid[1]and long-term goals. The successful candidate will be part of a broader IT team that supports an end-to-end business, providing opportunities to develop not only IT Architecture skills, but gain experience of multiple business functions as well as multiple different application technologies such as SAP, Manufacturing execution systems, digital manufacturing applications, IIOT, MS Azure, Power App platforms, and data lake.What you will do

• Create and maintain relationships with key business owners, to manage an IT Strategic Roadmap with supporting project portfolio across several functional areas across the Enterprise.
• Be accountable for the business relationship across broader IT functions, responding to customer inquiries related to system enhancements, problems, and information requests.
• Consult with and become knowledgeable about the appointed business area, what success looks like for the group and the challenges they face.
• Gather/communicate business requirements from customer groups to shape and scope IT projects. Work with internal groups, third parties etc to develop high level objectives and approach to meet stated requirements and aligned to clear business outcomes.
• Via requirements gathering identify solutions for business growth / business challenges and provide costs for project execution and ongoing costs for support.
• Partner, socialise and validate proposed solutions with business partners and Enterprise Architects where required.
• Act as a stakeholder to oversee the delivery of projects through the Software Development Lifecycle, working with project managers, analysts, delivery partners, testers, and business leads. Manage product lifecycle for applications to ensure compliance regarding technology and security.
• Through tailored development plans, continue to grow knowledge in all areas of IT to ensure you stay current with new technology options and new offerings within existing applications.

What you will have

• Be able to reference at least 5 years within an IT group or a Product based team, with a degree or equivalent in Information Technology.

• Creates and evaluates technical alternatives for complex applications.
• Interprets application services such as API; integrates them with technical design.
• Develops various, distinct and multiple technical application designs.
• Prepares technical design documents and blueprints for applications.
• Explores and evaluates application design considerations for multiple technologies.

Implementation: Knowledge of how to run applications for organizations; ability to implement application software within an organization and help end-users perform specific tasks (ex: accounting or graphic design).
Level Working Knowledge:

• Tracks problems associated with the quality and effectiveness of application software.
• Researches the benefits and drawbacks of an organization\'s application software.

Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project.
Level Extensive Experience:

• Plays an active or leading role in recording and storing requirement documents in various forms.
• Ensures the successful completion of all major activities, tasks and deliverables pertaining to the requirement analysis stage.
• Supervises the advanced use of requirements analysis tools and services, including prototyping and use cases.
• Produces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentation.
• Trains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality reviews.
• Utilizes automated diagramming tools to ensure traceability of requirements.

System and Technology Integration : Knowledge of the features and facilities of systems; ability to integrate and communicate among applications, databases and technology platforms.
Level Extensive Experience:

• Designs and develops applications or technology interfaces and bridges.
• Documents existing best practices for system or technology integration processes.
• Identifies and quantifies risks of proposed alternatives to a system or technology integration initiative.
• Delivers training on major issues, interfaces, considerations and potential pitfalls and risks.
• Discusses with line areas on data, technology and application integration issues.
• Advises others in how to integrate projects across multiple technologies.

System Testing : Knowledge of system and software testing; ability to design, plan and execute system testing strategies and tactics to ensure the quality of software at all stages of the system life cycle.
Level Extensive Experience:

• Verifies the proper flow of transactions across all input, output and storage channels or devices.
• Evaluates interoperability of new systems with existing systems during the beta testing phase.
• Supervises the testing of complex, multi-platform and distributed applications.
• Designs processes to ensure that the system meets and maintains requirements and expectations.
• Coaches end users on the development of test data and test scenarios for system validation.
• Manages the execution of test plans, including resources, strategies, schedules, processes and tools.

Technical Troubleshooting : Knowledge of technical troubleshooting approaches, tools and techniques; ability to anticipate, recognize, and resolve technical issues on hardware, software, application or operation.
Level Working Knowledge:

• Discovers, analyzes, and resolves hardware, software or application problems.
• Works with vendor-specific diagnostic guides, tools and utilities.
• Handles calls related to product features, applications, and compatibility standards.
