Morningstar is building a second line IT infrastructure support team in Mumbai; the team will take on support functions for the Global IT infrastructure group. The second line support group will handle incidents and service requests escalated from Morningstar\xe2\x80\x99s monitoring, service desk and desktop support groups and will work in collaboration with third line engineering teams based in Chicago, London and Shenzhen.

Morningstar India is looking for a \xe2\x80\x9cSenior Infrastructure Engineer\xe2\x80\x9d based in our Vashi, Navi Mumbai office. The ideal candidate should be someone who thrives on delivering high quality operational output, new experiences and technical challenges.

As a \xe2\x80\x9cSenior Infrastructure Engineer\xe2\x80\x9d working in Morningstar\xe2\x80\x99s IT infrastructure team, you will be involved in the support of our Storage and backup infrastructure hosted in US, UK , China and AWS . You will also be involved in the transition of second line support processes and functions to the new team in Mumbai.

Interested candidates should have a proven track record of supporting significant Network Infrastructures. The successful candidate for this role should have at least 4 to 6 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in an IT support role and should have experience and knowledge of storages like Netapp, EMC, Tintri and backup technologies like Commvault, Netbackup, Backup Exec. Candidates should have an appreciation of security standards, best practices and principals.

Candidates should have excellent English, strong communication skills and a degree in Electronics and Telecommunication or computer science or related scientific field with strong academic credentials is required.

Candidate should be willing to work in 24X7 rotational shifts.

Job description:

Day to Day responsibilities for storage:

• Monitor, Support and Administration of Morningstar\xe2\x80\x99s Storage
• Should have good understanding and hands on practice in creating LUN, NFS and CIFS volumes
• Should have good understanding of storage features like QOS, deduplication
• Should have hands on practice on components like WFA, OCUM, Netapp Insight, EMC Unisphere
• Must be able to understand working of different application and customize workflows using Netapp Workflow automation tool to fulfill IOPS requirement as per application
• Should have in-depth understanding of storage tiering and hands on practice on creating and modifying Aggregates and RaidGroups
• Track and support periodic hardware and software upgrades
• Prepare, review and maintain standard operating procedure document
• Responsible for making technical decisions in support of both daily activities and ongoing project deliverables
• Work closely with support partners to promptly resolve incidents.
• Should create customize capacity and performance reports and analyze it.
• Peer review change and SOP\xe2\x80\x99s prepared by infrastructure engineers
• Follow change, problem and incident management process
• Defines key performance indicators and thresholds for systems. Identifies strategic initiatives and plans to improve KPIs
• Establish and assure adherence to Service and Operating Level Agreements

Day to Day responsibilities for Backup:

• Monitor, Support and Administration of Morningstar\xe2\x80\x99s Backup
• Should have hands on knowledge on backup solutions like Commvault, Netbackup and Backup exec
• Should have hands on knowledge in backing up RDS, MSSQL, Oracle, NDMP
• Should have good understanding AWS resource like snapshot, S3 to use them in backup.
• Evaluate customer needs based on applications requirements, current capacity and growth trends
• Analyze, design, test, document, and implement solutions for continuous data availability, integrity, backup and protection.
• Follow Change Management procedures for all production level changes within the enterprise environment
• Experience in handling Offsite Tape Management.
• Track and support periodic hardware and software upgrades

Technical Skills and Requirements:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree or Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Science or Information Technology or any equivalent field with strong academic credentials is required.
• At least 5-6 years of experience in a networking focused second line support role.
• Good English communication and presentation skills (written & verbal).
• An ability to demonstrate a focus on attention to detail and high-quality results.
• Solid understanding of storage and backup fundamentals and concepts.
• Solid Cloud experience, preferably in AWS
• Should have good understanding for windows and linux operating system.
• Should have basic knowledge about networking
• Strong knowledge of SAN and NAS architecture
• Must have hands on knowledge of snapmirror and snapvault
• Should have good understanding and hands on experience for storage failover
• Strong troubleshooting skills

Advantageous:

• ITIL Foundation certification
• AWS Cloud knowledge
