Functions Performs reconciliations related to wire transfers or deposits resulting from Recovery activity. Reconciles mortgage servicing system and general ledger to claim payments from GSEs, GOVY, or private lenders. Assist in the development and improvement of accounting controls related to transactions. Develops/maintains trend analysis and other ad hoc reports/projects. Validates data reporting sources by working with IT and other departments to resolve any discrepancies. Analyzes financial and transactional data to find anomalies and issues leading to company losses. Partners with multiple lines of business to root cause illogical or unclaimable advances and helps ideate and implement new processes and controls to remediate these issues. Work with management to cross-train and support teammates on day-to-day responsibilities. Exhibits willingness to go above and beyond the minimum requirements when working with internal or external customers ensuring a positive customer experience. Competencies Broad knowledge of spreadsheet, database, word processing and MS Office software. Expertise in Excel: The ideal candidate will develop excel-based risk reports and analytics with little technical guidance. Experience with macros, pivot tables and data structures is a plus. Access/SQL: Ability to write queries is a must, as the Analyst will need to access SQL Server databases to obtain information and integrate excel front-end tools and reports with the underlying databases. Related experience within Financial Services industry, preferably in an analytical role within the mortgage industry Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail. Excellent communication and mathematical skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be able to prioritize work and effectively manage to deadlines.
