Join us in powering the progress of global aerospace.We have an immediate opening for a Senior Engineering Manager - XOps (MLOps, DevOps, TestOps) - Digital Aviation Solutions to lead XOps teams (MLOps, TestOps, DevOps) in Platform Engineering, Digital Aviation Solutions India team. The successful candidate will provide portfolio level leadership which involves leading multiple first line managers managing multiple projects, budgets, schedule and performance. This position will be located in Bangalore, India and will work collaboratively with several in-country and global stakeholders to successfully execute statements of work.Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the vision and mission for three key teams : MLOps, DevOps, TestOps with razor sharp focus on deployment, management and maintenance of these technology systems in an innovative and efficient manner.
  • Lead a team of engineering managers and senior individual contributors performing engineering and technology work.
  • Create and maintain relationships with global stakeholders and work closely with them on planning, forecasting, execution and delivery.
  • Manage organization level budgets, schedule and overall performance standards across multiple projects.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure business, technical and customer requirements are addressed in an efficient and timely manner. Assign authority and responsibilities to employees to execute the plan. Review plans\' execution, make appropriate adjustments, and resolve issues.
  • Forecast resource needs and make hiring decisions. Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. Provide on-going developmental feedback.
  • Make compensation recommendations in regards to hiring salaries and salary review actions. Recognize contributions of individuals and teams to improve employee satisfaction and retain a skilled and motivated workforce. Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, time charging, etc...
  • Convey organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Proactively communicates with employees, peers and customers.
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations.
  • Provide direction and guidance to support the advancement of tools, processes, procedures with incorporation of industry best practices.
  • Lead and deploy agile methodologies and other industry best practices across software lifecycle development.
  • Lead organization level initiatives and coordinate activities across multiple engineering capabilities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Build and lead a highly engaged and motivated team.
Basic Qualification:
  • Bachelor or masters degree in science or engineering is a basic requirement with over 20 years of work experience in medium to large aerospace/aviation companies with at least 8 years of experience as a people manager.
  • A Knowledge of AI/ML and MLOps.
  • Past work experience in leading DevOps teams and Testing teams.
  • Past work experience related to Aerospace / Aviation domain.
  • Past experience and demonstrated success in leading multiple technical software development teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in driving innovation and product enhancements.
  • Skilled in coaching and mentoring managers and staff members to meet schedules or resolve technical or operational challenges.
  • Strategic thinking and execution - must be able to develop comprehensive product and customer intelligence / knowledge, and communicate with appropriate stakeholders, identify capacity/capability to perform current and projected engineering work statement and research, conduct any partner / supplier evaluations and assessments regarding their ability to perform these activities.
  • Communication - strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI).
  • Candidate must be fluent in English and have expertise in using MS Office tools.
  • Must have strong team building skills. Must have demonstrated ability to accomplish results through direct reports, colleagues in other parts of an organization, and partners.
  • Strong experience in all phases of the software development life cycle and agile methodology.
  • Demonstrated engineering leadership experience in a major aerospace organization; ability to understand and communicate with Global Executives/managers, and experts over a wide range of engineering disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in people management role, preferably in leading software development teams
  • Systems Thinking - Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the organization, including the impact of changes in one area on another area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technologies, policies and procedures related to engineering.
  • Technical and Project Management leadership skills to ensure flawless execution of engineering statements of work.
  • Must have ability to accomplish results through effective collaboration working with all stakeholders including colleagues in other parts of Boeing, and suppliers.
  • Ability to work well with virtual teams across multiple time-zones and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to prepare comprehensive reports, proposals, Statements of Work, and connect technology to business considerations (e.g., ROI).
  • Candidate must be a self-starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and a track record of working successfully under pressure in a time-constrained environment.
Typical Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor or masters degree in science or engineering with over 20 years of work experience in medium to large aerospace/aviation companies with at least 8 years of experience as a people manager. A
