BUSINESS: Industrial Group (Pumps)


LOCATION: Daman


DIRECT REPORTING: Head Of Supply Chain Management


FUNCTIONAL REPORTING: Head Of Supply Chain Management


POSITION DETAILS : Asst. Manager Supply Chain Management

•Position Summary •


Managing procurement activities for Bought out items like Raw materials - like Bars of different grades, machined components of pumps, shafts and sleeves of pumps, motors, mechanical seals, LMRV, Gear Box, Starter Panel, Instrumentation, Couplings etc. He / She coordinates and supports overall procurement activities including Supplier Strategy, RFP/ RFQ, Price & Contract Negotiations, Purchase ordering & Expediting, Logistics and Ontime receipts, Sorting out Quality issues etc.

•Principal Activities •


• Laying down Commodity Strategy for Bought out Commodity.


• Foster Teamwork, provide strategy, expert consultation and collaborate with goals alignment across platforms and functions with an enterprise mindset.


• On time Bidding support to Sales team


• Accountable for negotiations for best possible cost and service guarantee and develop "win-win" strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers


• Achieving year on year Material Productivity Targets


• Supplier Capacity Review, Weekly Open Order Review, Identify bottlenecks and resolve the same in advance to achieve minimum 95% OTD.


• Maintaining Inventory Turnover Ratio of minimum 6.


• Supplier Consolidation and Alternate Supplier development as required.


• Develop and maintain tools to track Market Level Prices for high impact purchases.


• MIS reporting Daily/Weekly/Monthly.

• MIS reporting

• Good knowledge of Supplier Market for various Bought out items
• Good understanding about Commodity management and Contract agreements.
• Good understanding about the pricing and negotiation strategy for the said parts.
• Well versed with the complete SCM cycle from Bid Stage to sorting out Warranty issue if any.
• Good Understanding about Project Management Aspects.
• Very Good Exposure on Vendor Management.
• Hands on Experience of using SAP version 760
• Good understanding about Lean principles.

•Education & Experience : •

• BE. in Mechanical / Production Engineering with MBA in Supply Chain Management
• Minimum 10-12 years of experience in Procurement of Bought out items.
• Good understanding about various Quality tools like 8D, Why - Why Analysis, Control plan, PFMEA, MSA, R & R, etc.
• Experience of using SAP version 760
