TITLE : Material Specialist



BUSINESS : ZF CVS



REPORTING TO : Site Team leader - Materials technology





SCOPE AND IM PACT OF POSITION ON THE ORGANIZATION:




Support product line teams for polymer testing, material selection, failure analysis, certification of the parts in the developmental stage




MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:


• Plan and perform tests for the qualification of materials, parts and products
• Failure analysis and bench marking of the products
• Prepare test reports
• Experience in handling equipments FTIR, DSC etc..,
• Plan and maintain test equipments
• Collaborate with external R&D institutions/agencies for Technology development
• Responsible for follow up and communication with inter/intra departments
• Support other internal function groups (Key account teams) on technical queries
• Support material selection and standardization






EXPERIENCE:




Experience in the area of polymers and polymer testing of atleast 0 - 6 months




PROFILE:




• BE/B.Tech/Master's degree in Materials Science and Polymer Engineering/Technology.
• Knowledge and testing of Plastics and rubber
• Knowledge in the area of polymer processing
• Good academic background
• Strong technical fundamentals
• Good communication skills
• Confident handling of MS Office products






OUTPUT:




• Material testing support to PE
• Test reports






METRICS:


• Completion of Material testing as per project plan
• Number of test reports created






INTERNAL INTERACTIONS:


• Material, Testing and Design Engineers
• Team leader, Group Leader
• Other functions in the company like S&P, Finance and Quality



EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS:


• Academic institutions and research organizations
• Suppliers
• External material testing labs






LOCATION:

Ambattur, Chennai




TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:


20 to 30 %
