Description About our team: We build best-in-class software for Autonomous driving functions for Mercedes Benz passenger cars. We are a team of talented engineers working in a global network to develop the next generation of Driver Assistance features used in all Mercedes Benz cars sold globally. Our team works on motion prediction and Scene reasoning for Level 2/3/4 Autonomous vehicles. About the role and responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced and passionate SW or Data Engineer to join our ADAS/AD division. . Develop state-of-the-art algorithms and deep learning solutions for interactive situational prediction and scene reasoning to enhance driving behavior. . Analyze functional requirements and derive efficient and sustainable solutions while considering the overall functional architecture and software design. . Implement real-time capable software modules using C++ and Python that are reliable and efficient. . Verify and validate implemented solutions through simulations and our test vehicle fleet. . Proactively work within an agile framework to drive discussions towards holistic, sustainable, and high-quality software solutions. Required Qualifications . Master\'s/ Bachelor\'s Degree in computer science, robotics, or any related area. . Strong knowledge and proven experience(At least 3 years) in at least one of the following areas: o Strong functional experience with motion prediction or scene reasoning in the field of ADAS/AD. o Proven experience in building scaling data pipelines (incl. Meta data handling) for real time DNN solutions (Airflow, Docker, Spark, etc.). o Deep knowledge in developing and integrating a DNN/ML System in a real time system, including optimization of DNNs and pre/post processing code on SOCs (TensorRT, Pytorch, CUDA, etc.). . Excellent coding skills and proven SW development experience with modern C++ and Python. . Solid understanding of functional concepts and system design patterns commonly used in automated driving and/or mobile robotics. . Ability to solve complex technical problems in a creative, structured and holistic way. . Excellent communication skills and desire to work as part of a global team in a multi-cultural environment. . Familiar with Git, Jira and Confluence . Fluent proficiency in spoken and written English. Preferred Qualifications . Rich professional experience with modern software development tools and processes including source code management, software verification and validation. . Comprehensive knowledge of software architecture principles for embedded systems. . Experience with production-grade software development in large series projects. . Knowledge of safety and certification standards for ADAS and AD functions (e.g ISO 26262, SOTIF) is a plus. . Academic background or proven experience in one of the following areas: artificial intelligence, machine learning, reinforcement learning, evolutionary systems, probabilistic inference, hyper parameter optimization. .
