Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our Energy departmentAs our new Senior HVAC Engineer you will be part of HVAC team of Energy Department in Chennai working on various Green Transition Projects globally.Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Handle one or more Projects independently.
  • Lead a team of HVAC Engineers, Draughtsman/Designers.
  • Preparation of Deliverable list & Schedule, Man-hour estimate, Resource requirement and Progress report.
  • Responsible for quality, schedule and budget of his team and projects.
  • Participating in meetings with client.
  • Coordination with other disciplines.
  • Preparation of Design Basis Report & Technical Specifications.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards like ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO, NFPA, DNV, AMCA etc.
  • Review of Tender documents to understand the scope of work, client\' specifications etc. and prepare technical offer technical clarifications and list of deviations when required.
  • Preparation and checking of concept designs & design basis report with recommendation of suitable HVAC system and getting the approval from Client.
  • Preparation and checking of Detail Engineering, Design drawings, related specifications, equipment selection criteria and calculations as per the approved Base design.
  • Site Survey, Heating, Ventilation & Cooling Load Calculations and sizing & capacity finalization of HVAC Units Sizing & Selection of Chillers, AHU\'s, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Valves, Exhaust Fans, FCU\'s, Pressurization Units, Grills, Diffusers, Pressure relief dampers, Sand trap Louvers, Exhaust Air Louvers, Penthouse Louvers, Flexible ducts etc.
  • Ventilation calculations for various industrial applications.
  • Air pressurization calculations.
  • Duct sizing, External Static Pressure calculations for Air Handling Units, Package Air Conditioning Units and Ventilation Fans.
  • Water /Refrigerant Pipes Designing and Installations.
  • Innovative thoughts and solutions combined with ability to demonstrate and convince stakeholders on proposed solutions.
  • Experience in envisaging and handling EPC / Yard requirements.
  • Have a commercial mindset when it comes to handling projects, budget, solutions proposed and ability to see big picture.
  • Shall be able to guide junior engineers in the team and guide draftsman for the preparation of HVAC Schematic (DIDs) drawings and shop drawings.
  • Review comments on submittals and on engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in HAZOP and HAZID meetings.
  • Technical Bid Evaluation and selection of vendors.
  • Vendor drawings review.
  • Prepare SOW for HVAC contractor and coordinate with HVAC vendors.
  • Writing Technical procedures/guide/work instructions.
  • Supporting/guiding/training department engineers.
  • Responsible for bid/proposal input.
  • Clean room experience and Dust collection system experience will be an added advantage
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering, with Minimum 12 years\' experience in offshore, refinery or petrochemical or oil & gas industry is required. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in offshore projects is a must. Experience in Offshore Sub-Stations will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Global projects with knowledge of local requirements.
  • Knowledge of software like CARRIER E20, Carrier HAP, ELITE, TRACE, McQuay, Pipe-flo etc.
  • Proven experience in Revit MEP & E3D preferred.
  • Knowledge of field instruments, Electrical and other system interfaces with HVAC.
  • Ability to quickly assess and make recommendations (rapid problem solving) regarding HVAC issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members of all disciplines.
  • Have very good knowledge or written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures and technical reports.
