This position involves working within the MEP Design & Engineering Team at XS CAD's Global Delivery Centre in Andheri, Mumbai. The team consists of skilled professionals, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers with varied experience. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the overall design of electrical systems and deliverables, working directly with leading MEP design consulting firms from the UK, USA, Australia and the UAE on flagship projects.







Key Roles and Responsibilities:





Design and Documentation:


• Lead the design of electrical systems, including Concept Design, Schematic Design, Design Development and Tender Design/Documentation (Technical Specifications, BOQ, Schedules and Drawings)
• Design LV/HV systems to current legislation and codes of practice for various types of buildings based on client briefs and guidelines
• Perform electrical calculations and develop power/lighting/schematic mark-ups independently as per project requirements

Client interaction:


• Maintain regular communication with clients, taking on design responsibilities for projects such as commercial, residential, retail, laboratories and hospitals
• Understand and apply codes and standards local to project locations, utilising the latest industry-leading software

Leadership and Mentorship:


• Mentor and assist junior engineers

Take on a leadership role with the potential for team growth, with team members reporting to you

Professional Development:



• Independently communicate with clients, stakeholders, leaders and peers in written and spoken English
• Create electrical design mark-ups and perform calculations independently
• Train and work on the latest electrical design software
• Undertake offshore visits to clients' offices, if required, for detailed training and one-on-one sessions
• Display flexibility, a collaborative nature and empathy

Qualification and Experience Required:



• BE/BTech/ME/MTech degree in electrical engineering or a related technical field
• Minimum 6 years of experience in designing electrical systems for commercial, retail, hospital or residential projects
• Experience using electrical design software for carrying out electrical calculations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for preparing electrical design layouts and using MS Office
• Proven experience in managing client communication independently
• Experience working with reputable global MEP engineering companies
• Experience working on UK/Australia/Middle East projects
