Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our E&I departmentAs a Senior Electrical Engineer in the E&I team, you will be reporting to our HOD (E&I) of the Chennai office.In this role you will primarily involve in LV, MV and HV electrical engineering concept studies, FEED and detailed engineering of onshore and offshore oil & gas and offshore substation projects. You will also be involved in power system analysis such as load flow, short circuit levels, motor starting study, and protective devices co-ordination, arc flash study & harmonic analysis using Paladin design base / ETAP or similar software and performing engineering calculations manually or through Microsoft Excel based on good engineering practices. You will be an user of Aveva Engineering and Aveva Electrical tool and implementation.Responsibilities

• The work shall be mainly on general electrical engineering activities.

Primary Tasks

• He / she shall be able to handle electrical engineering projects (small, medium and big projects) independently as a lead or senior.
• Work on onshore substation electrical design including LV, MV and HV side.
• Work on onshore and offshore oil & gas electrical projects
• Sizing of electrical equipment such as generators, motors, transformers, switchgear / switchboards, VFDs, soft starters, power factor correction, cables, UPS systems, batteries, lighting, earthing / bonding and lightning protection systems.
• Review/ preparation of design deliverables such as detailed single line diagrams, load lists, cable routing and ladder rack diagrams, interconnection and wiring diagrams, trench layouts, electrical equipment layouts, lighting layouts, earthing and Lightning protection layouts.
• Preparation and through understanding of operating philosophies, specifications and data sheets for various HV and LV electrical equipment.
• Preparation of area classification drawings and selection of electrical equipment for hazardous areas.
• Responsible for completing the project within the time schedule and allocated man-hours
• Coordination with client, vendor / contractor, issue and follow up of CSS questionnaire.
• Preparation and evaluation of project documentation in addition to engineering deliverables.
• Coordination and follow up of electrical design and engineering interfaces with other disciplines.
• Responsible for the quality of the deliverables.
• Shall perform the delegated essential functions of lead engineer as and when required.
• Travel to client locations or other Ramboll offices may be required - both short and long term.
• Preparation and coordination of various bids

QualificationsTo succeed in this position, you need the following competences:

• Bachelor / master\'s degree holder in electrical engineering or equivalent.
• Should have 10 to 15 years of experience in engineering with substantial experience in electrical discipline related detail design & engineering, concept studies and FEED activities.
• Experience working on concept, feed, detailed engineering of offshore substation a must have requirement.
• Completed at least one offshore wind substation project including HV side and GIS panels, with thorough knowledge of all electrical components, layouts of offshore substation.
• He / she should have involved in engineering interfaces with other disciplines pertaining to refineries, petrochemical and process plants, energy projects and preferably in consulting organisation.
• Should have experience (independently as a doer or checker) in electrical power system study software such as ETAP, EDSA
• Should have experience in participating various workshops like HAZOP, SAFOP, HAZID, Risk Evaluation, 3D model review
• He she shall be well familiar with international codes and standards, materials, specifications, calculations and datasheets.
• Should have handled assigned projects independently by himself as a lead / senior (oil & gas / power).
• Knowledge of various tools like Aveva Engineering, Aveva Electrical will be an advantage
• Good interpersonal skills, liaising with members of other disciplines and departments.
• Ability or proven experience in an offshoring center or coordinated work with a distant offshoring center.
• Experience from consultancies of repute in greenfield and brownfield activities.
