Business Need / Purpose of Role:
As a Senior Digital Application Engineer, you will be part of the development resource pool responsible in development and maintaining of Weir Minerals Digital solutions. Reporting to Digital App Technical Manager, you will work closely with our digital product owners, delivery managers and product development teams ensure meeting technical solutions are delivered.
You will be first to begin managing and maintain development of our Synertrex IQ mobile application and Wear Connect Application platforms. With later moving into Synertrex Intelligence platform H2 2023. S/He will be required to have experience in SQL and API development technologies, and potentially working with Weir Group\xe2\x80\x99s integration platform MuleSoft
Objectives & Measurement
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
Key Responsibilities
Develop, deploy, and maintain existing Synertrex IQ and Wear Connect Platforms
Develop, deploy, and maintain existing Synertrex Intelligence platform of AVEVA PI, XMPro
Supporting development of advanced predictive analytics solutions that leverage XMRPO ecosystem and drive the implementation of the Weir Connected and Intelligent Machines
Develop, deploy, and maintain API-based integrations to backend software applications and big data stores in MS Azure and AWS cloud platforms, including Mulesoft
Technical documentation and functional specifications
Supporting commissioning and new customers onboarding activities
Key Accountabilities:
Support, configure and improve existing data management platforms and industrial data applications
Playing an active role in all aspects of the development process of IIoT applications including identification of user needs, prototyping, development, KPIs configuration and unit testing
Ensure development of work is being produced in high standards by conduct and report unit testing
Taking responsibility of gathering customer feedback and identifying opportunities to develop leading customer solutions
Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications
Education
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering, computer science, IS&T (Information Systems & Technology), business essential or equivalent industry experience gained in a similar role and at a similar level
Experience
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate practical experience in software development within complex digital platform/system environments.
Practical experience in many of software development languages such as SQL, Python, ASP.NET CORE, C#, IOT, Service Fabrics, jQuery, JavaScript, Azure IOT, Azure Data Lake, OPC UA Server, Web API, Azure Functions in AWS and MS Azure environments are essentials
Experience in any IoT in any sector is essential, IIOT (Industrial Internet of Things) is highly recommended.
Experience in innovative engineering manufacturing (e.g., automotive, heavy industries) or telecommunication industries are highly recommended.
Experience with complex digital systems in IIOT using tools such as MS Visual Studio 2019, SQL Server 2018, GitHub, PowerShell, Postman, Azure DevOps (CI/CD) using Terraform, Docker, Azure data factory, data lake storage, high-speed data tools, SAP and Siemens Teamcenter will be highly regarded
Communication Skills:
To meet tight delivery deadlines, s/he must foster strong relationships with product owners, delivery managers and resource teams ensure delivery schedule is met.
Computer Skills:
Has a passion for technology and keeping up to date on technology trends. A highly capable technology user of the standard business systems and packages.

Work Environment:
Home / Office based with potential for some international travel and flexibility to work non-standard hours regularly due to the global nature of the role
