Together, we lead and leave a positive impact on societies, companies and people around the world.You will join our Energy departmentAs our new Senior HVAC Designer you will be part of HVAC team of Energy Department in Chennai working on various Green Transition Projects globally.We invite you to bring your expertise in codes and standards like ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO, DNV, NFPA, AMCA into play as you will be involved in the preparation of Deliverable list & Schedule, Man-hour estimate, Resource requirement and Progress report. To succeed in this role, you must have minimum 12 years\' experience in offshore, refinery or petrochemical or oil & gas industry

  • Be part of one or more Projects independently during Conceptual, FEED and Detail design
  • Should be able to work independently with minimum guidance
  • Develop 2D drawings like D&IDs, P&IDs, schematics, etc.,
  • 3D modeling of HVAC equipment, components, ducts, piping and developing Orthographic and Isometric drawing are required
  • Develop equipment arrangement plans and details for new and retrofit of facilities
  • Develop ducting general arrangement drawings to the required level of detail
  • Design ducting systems and supports
  • Use good engineering and drafting practice and appropriate codes and standards in performing design
  • Work closely with the lead engineer
  • Coordination of design with designers, internal project team, other disciplines and external clients
  • Using E3D software for modelling
  • Database creation for HVAC components in E3D
  • Preparation of typical construction details for ducts and duct supports.
  • Duct & Pipe pressure drop calculations.
  • MTO preparation and self-checking
  • Preparation and self-checking of Support sketches
  • Checking of drawings/ documents with QA standards & procedures - Ensure right quality is maintained and delivered
  • Checking of IDC documents from other disciplines
  • Participate as required during model reviews, etc.
  • Ensures efficient utilization of software in the team
  • Any other activities assigned by Lead or HOD
  • Responsible for quality, schedule and budget of his / her area of work assigned
  • Participating in meetings with client.
  • Knowledge of codes and standards like ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISO, NFPA, DNV, AMCA etc.
  • Innovative thoughts and solutions combined with ability to demonstrate and convince stakeholders on proposed solutions.
  • Experience in envisaging and handling EPC / Yard requirements.
  • Clean room experience and Dust collection system experience will be an added advantage
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Engineering / Diploma in Mechanical, with Minimum 12 years\' experience related to design of HVAC systems and piping in offshore, refinery or petrochemical or oil & gas industry is required. Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in offshore projects is a must. Experience in Offshore Sub-Stations will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Global projects with knowledge of local requirements.
  • Proven experience in E3D is must. Additional software knowledge like Plant 3D, Revit, etc. are added advantage.
  • Knowledge of various systems related to HVAC like Chilled water, Refrigerant, Air, ventilation, ducting, etc., Good knowledge about various HVAC related equipment like Chillers, AHU\'s, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Valves, Exhaust Fans, FCU\'s, Pressurization Units, Grills, Diffusers, Pressure relief dampers, Sand trap Louvers, Exhaust Air Louvers, Penthouse Louvers, Flexible ducts, Air Handling Units, Package Air Conditioning Units and Ventilation Fans, etc.
  • Knowledge of field instruments, Electrical and other system interfaces with HVAC.
  • Ability to quickly assess and make recommendations (rapid problem solving) regarding HVAC issues.
  • Ability to work effectively with team members of all disciplines, have very good knowledge or written and spoken English with ability to produce procedures and technical reports
