What is a Senior Database Administrator responsible for?

• 
  As part of the Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing database solutions in the cloud and on-premise. Our Database Administrators provide broad technical expertise and solutions that is focused on providing our partners with an experience to be envy of with highest quality services that \xe2\x80\x9cjust works\xe2\x80\x9d. Our services scale globally, are highly available, are resilient with business continuity. Working closely with Application Development, Operations in designing database systems that meet complex business requirements and establish guidelines that aligns database infrastructure with enterprise architecture. Working closely with our application development groups to understand their information and data needs and partnering with DevOps, Architecture, Application Development, Testing and Operations, along with Cloud Architecture and Engineering teams to build class leading systems, while practicing and promoting reliability engineering principles through self-service and automation.

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

• 
  At least 5 years of extensive hands-on experience with managing PostgreSQL databases.
• 
  Strong understanding of PostgreSQL Architecture, Performance Management, User Management and Security.
• 
  Proficient in at least one scripting language like Shell scripting, Perl (or) Python is a must.
• 
  Exposure to Cloud Data Migrations & Cloud Native databases like Aurora is a must.
• 
  Exposure to one NOSQL database like MongoDB, DynamoDB etc is desirable.
• 
  Exposure to other relational database systems like MYSQL, SQL Server is a plus.
• 
  Experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex architectures such as high availability, disaster recovery and scalability for mission critical, 24*7 environments.
• 
  Cloud Certification will be an added advantage.
• 
  Independently manage processes, automation, best practices, and documentation.
• 
  Possess good communication skills as this position will require interacting with multiple application teams.
