As a Senior Database Administrator , you will be working with financial services architecture, platforms and data flows focussed on Risk. You will be responsible for both building, managing and optimizing data pipelines and then moving these data pipelines effectively into production and helping support the platform that generates the firm's daily market risk data. You will be working closely with the Quant developers to make the data easy to use within the platform.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work closely with the Data Engineering Manager to devise strategy, goals, and process improvements.
• Drive the implementation of cloud data warehousing best practices across the team.
• Troubleshoot data-related problems and lead the team in finding and implementing solutions.
• Maintain data pipelines, measuring performance and ensuring good data quality by implementing adequate monitoring.
• Maintains required documents to support maintenance and knowledge building.
• Work with our Data Governance team in ensuring we comply with our data governance policy/procedures
• Work alongside multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and ensure robust documentation management.
• Liaise and work closely with our team of quant developers to make the data easy to use within the platform.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• A minimum of 5+ years experience in data management disciplines including data integration, modelling, optimization and data quality.
• 5 years or more of work experience in MSSQL procedures.
• 2 years of experience with major cloud providers, preferably AWS
• Prior experience in an embedded DBA/DBM role is a must.
• Prior working experience with Snowflake is highly desirable.
• Excellent understanding of cloud data warehousing concepts and best practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken is crucial
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of Data Engineers or DBAs.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
