Job description: Location : Chennai Two days onsite Three days work from home Experience 5+ years Timing IST 6 Month contract initial + extendable As a Data Scientist, you will support strategic decision making through the provision of data-driven insights. Decisions around process optimisation, sample storage and distribution policies and reduced cycle times throughout CS&M\xe2\x80\x99s global footprint will be supported through data mining and analysis using, among other techniques, Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD). You will be operating in a highly automated and data rich environment and will need to understand complex schema and how they map onto real world workflows. You will assist in the development of modern approaches to data analysis, such as business intelligence software, dashboards and visualisations, machine learning and AI etc to maintain and further develop our position as a world-leading compound management group. Examples of typical tasks: Developing in-depth knowledge of the data representation of Compound Management activities and helping to drive continuous improvements Analysing large data sets and applying techniques such as data warehousing, data pipelining and data mining Supporting with the design and implementation of data visualisations to provide concise information/support decision-making to operational teams, the CS&M leadership team and the research community more widely Evaluating the latest technologies in computer science and assessing their suitability Working closely with internal project teams in the development of unique solutions to meet customer needs Achieving personal scientific visibility through project contributions, internal presentations and publications Essential For The Role Our team is a highly collaborative group, working to tight delivery schedules, so the ability to be comfortable working at a fast, goal-oriented pace, with a team-focused approach is crucial to be successful in the role. We also believe you have: A BSc/MSc in computer science/data science or related with relevant experience A good knowledge of SQL Experience with web technologies (e.g. HTML, Javascript & CSS) Object-oriented programming experience (Java/Python) Experience with data analysis and knowledge extraction Strong work ethic and customer focus Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify and implement improvement activities Passion for science, technology and innovation Desirable Knowledge and experience of working in a data science role Data warehousing and OLAP Data visualisation (e.g. BI platforms, R/Python) Cloud data storage (e.g. Snowflake) Machine learning techniques NoSQL/Graph database experience Job Type: Temporary
