Summary:
The Rackspace Technology Legal Department is currently seeking a lawyer qualified to practice law in India to join our engaging employment and commercial litigation team based in the US, UK, and India. The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience advising across APAC (and other international jurisdictions would be welcomed). We are looking for a candidate with strong commercial experience gained from a reputable private practice or in-house environment, preferably with a focus on technology, along with a solid interest in employment and commercial litigation.

The Rackspace Technology Legal Department is currently seeking a lawyer qualified to practice law in India to join our engaging employment and commercial litigation team based in the US, UK, and India.
The ideal candidate will also be able to demonstrate experience advising across APAC (and other international jurisdictions would be welcomed).


We are looking for a candidate with strong commercial experience gained from a reputable private practice or in-house environment, preferably with a focus on technology, along with a solid interest in employment and commercial litigation.



Key responsibilities include:

• Providing professional legal advice, leadership, strategy and risk management for all Company operations in APAC. Collaborating with functional and business leaders and external legal advisors to ensure compliance with laws.
• Leading on international employment related projects (with a focus on APAC).
• Working on Acquired Rights Directive matters including employment due diligence and post-completion work required to integrated acquired/transferred businesses.
• Providing advice on trade union/works council/employee representation matters.
• Managing employment litigation and contentious matters with the support of external counsel.
• Providing international employment law support in relation to HR led transformation programs.
• Advising on use of contractors across APAC.
• Assisting with global mobility matters.
• Advising on day-to-day India/APAC employment law and employee relations issues.
• Overseeing various APAC-wide cross border employment law issues.
• Working with the compensation and benefits team including in relation to sales compensation/commission issues.
• Advising business on customer/vendor contractual disputes.
• Assisting with litigation management for customer/vendor disputes, assisting in negotiations and settlements.
• Maintaining relationships with external counsel.
• Managing third-party subpoena and law enforcement requests.

QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is flexible and motivated to deliver outcomes and with an ability to adapt and be pro-active in an ever-changing environment.



Ideally you would have:
\xc2\xb7 University degree in law and enrollment with the Bar Council of India.

• 3 to 8 years Post Qualification Experience (note this is a guide only and all candidates who can demonstrate the relevant skill set will be considered).
• Multiple years of experience in a major international law firm , corporate legal department or multinational company.
• Strong understanding of Indian and APAC corporate laws, employment laws, contract law and litigation procedures.
• Proactive approach to identifying legal risks and providing strategic advice to mitigate them.
• Understanding of business operations and ability to align legal strategies with organizational goals.
• The ability to instruct outside counsel and coordinate internal business partners.
• Highly effective communicator \xe2\x80\x93 written and oral.
• True team player with ability to work cross-functionally in a complex organizational structure and available to cover other team members as needed.
• Ability to operate autonomously with little supervision whilst also being a team player.
• Results driven; proven experience leading strategic projects with ability to work independently.
• Excellent written and spoken English skills..
