What We\'ll Bring: TransUnion is looking to hire a Senior Consultant Software Engineer to be part of our newly established Enterprise Open Source Program Office. This will require an individual who is skilled in application development as well as familiar with security and compliance tools such as Black Duck, Snyk and Checkmarx or similar. This role will help ensure that products and tools developed by TransUnion as well as third party software integrated from other companies comply with Free and Open Source License terms.

The Open Source Program office is led from the Global Technology Platform group, but is really a partnership across technology, legal, compliance, security, and governance. TransUnion is a global company with application development offices building products in countries around the world. The Open Source Program office will establish a unified TU policy and governance to

• 9-12 years experinece in Application development using Java, Springboot and Angular 2+.
• Familiar with security and compliance tools such as Black Duck, Snyk and Checkmarx or similar
• Make decisions about what OSS to retain, retire, or re-platform
• Develop security and licensing assessment processes
• Develop a software integration process to enforce safe and law-abiding consumption of open-source libraries
• Enable new governance processes
• Develop automated governance to determine whether we are complying with all licensing requirements
• Ensure we are meeting all legal obligations for compliance under the licenses we consume
• Expand our automation tooling for security and licensing compliance
• Develop policy and procedure for contribution to the OSS community
• Develop process for M&A integration with OSS processes
• Establish benchmarks for OSS compliance
• Establish metrics to measure improvement in OSS compliance

How You\xe2\x80\x99ll Contribute:

As a member of the team, you will help ensure that TU\xe2\x80\x99s open-source policy is informed by ongoing research into the open-source industry. Working with the OSPO leader, you will:

• Help identify and remove dangerous licenses and find suitable replacements
• Assist teams in updating their libraries that have critical security risks
• Create POCs as needed for various tools and alerting needed to inform developers within the DevSecOps pipeline that they are using libraries that have critical security risks and unapproved licenses
• Setup scheduled Black Duck scans and analysis
• Create real-time dashboard to provide feedback on the use of FOSS and compliance

What You\xe2\x80\x99ll Bring:

• 8-10+ years\xe2\x80\x99 relevant experience in software development
• Experience creating, maintaining, and working with inner or open source packages
• Experience working with a wide variety of application teams, varied by size, product type, software stack, and geography
• Knowledge of modern development architecture and patterns
• Experience working in a process and deadline driven environment
• Familiarity with a variety of Development automation, Compliance and Security tooling products and ecosystems, examples being:

• Blackduck
• Jenkins
• Bitbucket
• Sonarqube
• Checkmarx
• Java focusing on Tomcat, JBOSS and Spring MVC
• Javascript frameworks, such as Angular, React, and Vue
