About the role We are looking for Data engineer who will bring to bear tools & technology standard methodologies to improve delivery performance & capabilities in the Data & Analytics space. As an Data engineer, you will help build best-in-class data pipelines to enable AstraZeneca\xe2\x80\x99s AI initiatives. With your experience in data tools and frameworks, you will work to improve Data scientist and Data engineer productivity and delivery speed by enabling them to be more self-sufficient with automated operational processes.

• Define, deploy, and manage processes and tools for continuous integration (CI/CD), test-driven development, and release management for data pipelines.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, ML Engineers, cloud platform and application engineers to create and implement data policies and governance.
• Build and improvise the automated tools to build infrastructure, monitoring and alerting system and visualization
• Ensures consistency to performance standards and compliance to data security requirements.
• Has an automation attitude and continuously focus on improving current processes
• Keep up with emerging standard methodologies in Data Ops and drive adoption as necessary.
• Proactively find issues and consult on possible solutions. Should be good at problem solving.

Mandatory skills

• Proficient at Python, SQL, Bash, makefile, Spark programming languages.
• Familiar with data optimisation key principles (partitions, distribution, etc)
• Experience handling Graph databases will be a plus.
• Experience with AWS cloud services related to data analysis.
• Experience in architecting, developing, and deploying enterprise-scale data solutions in Life Sciences, Medical Diagnostics, Utilities and/or industrial sectors.
• Experience building large scale data processing pipelines. e. g. Hadoop/Spark and SQL.
• Ability to work with multi-functional and remote teams.
• Good written and verbal skills, fluent English
