The Center of Excellence provides access to specialized and highly skilled talent, leading industry best practices, and collaboration opportunities across all of the Booking Holdings brands and business units.Job Overview:The Compliance Operations Senior Manager is a pivotal role within the Booking Holdings Compliance Operations team. They will lead a team of Compliance Operations supervisors and analysts that will be responsible for first line regulatory compliance, AML and KYC activities including:

  • Verification of new and existing Partners
  • Verification, on-boarding and on-going due-diligence of Partners (both KYP and KYB)
  • Sanction, PEP and adverse media screening of Partners
  • Transaction monitoring investigation
  • Payment Screening
  • Quality Assurance
They will also act as a key point of contact between Booking Holdings Financial Services, the Brands, other business units and a team of outsourced Compliance Operations experts charged with delivering a best in class AML and KYC function alongside the BHI Compliance Operations team in the Centre of Excellence.Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Hire, scale and manage a team of best in class compliance operations professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of a world class Compliance Operations function and strategy to ensure we have the right direction and internal organization to reach our goals.
  • Responsible for building and the on-going management of a team of high-performing Compliance professionals responsible for first line activities.
  • Ensure the team maintains agreed SLAs and KPIs on productivity and quality.
  • Work hand in hand with a team of Compliance operations professionals within Booking Holdings Financial Services and also from an external BPO to ensure the effective operation of all activities.
  • Ensure any issues or escalations are managed effectively within the team including the service provider
  • Ensure any issues, escalations within the BPO team are managed and effectively and in a timely manner so as not to have a detrimental impact on the teams overall performance.
  • Attending daily and weekly huddles plus monthly and quarterly governance meetings to ensure effective delivery of the service
  • Be the local SMEs for all Compliance Operations related activities.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are being followed effectively and accurately. Escalate in a timely manner any potential gaps or process improvements identified by the team.
  • Ensure escalations to Second Line functions are accurate, appropriate and sent in a timely manner
  • Work closely with the Head of Compliance Operations to effectively manage all in scope compliance operational activities for BHI and the Brands.
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management
  • Ensure the teams are efficiently cross trained in any new process that is to be delivered on behalf of BHI or the brands.
Qualification:Bachelor's degree in law, business, finance, or accounting preferred; or Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).At least 8+ years' experience in operations with a focus on building and retaining a team of AML/KYC SMEs professionals preferably at a large financial institution with a global customer base, experience in payments an advantage.Requirements of special knowledge / skills
  • Experience in building and managing high-performance teams
  • Previous experience of Leading a team responsible for AML/KYC/Compliance operations with varying levels of experience
  • Track record of implementing process improvements to drive efficiency
  • Track record of developing and retaining talent
  • Previous experience of establishing offshore teams to increase scalability of KYC functions
  • Must also be self-motivated, a team player, have a professional demeanor, and be comfortable facing into senior executives
  • Strong initiative, intellectual curiosity, and ownership
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and move fast xe2x80x93 all while keeping very close attention to detail
  • Work effectively with diverse teams to come up with the best solution and move people and organizations to act
  • The individual should have an entrepreneurial, collaborative approach and a flexible style that allows for the input of others.
  • Strong analytical skills, able to manipulate data, produce MI, and prepare reports;
  • Proven experience providing effective oral and written communication
  • Ability to identify issues and develop risk-based solutions that satisfy relevant regulations while executing sound business judgment
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Must have good planning and time management/prioritisation skills
  • Ability to work independently and also to liaise with other departments
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a matrix environment.
