Summary The Senior Commercial Finance and Risk Manager will support the APAC Commercial organization to drive profitable growth and sustainable cash generation while ensuring the financial risks undertaken are commensurate with the expected return. This role is accountable for all financial responsibilities pertaining to underwriting of new engines and services contracts as well as risk exposure management. The role will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to the overall business strategy.The role requires seasoned, senior level individual contributors/managers with in-depth knowledge of best practices and how your area integrates with others, have working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.Essential Responsibilities:Deal underwriting:Develop deal structures/products to win competitive campaigns and create customer solutions, to address unique customer needs while meeting business objectives of cash flow and margins at appropriate risk levelsLead the deal underwriting and financial modelling process for new engines and services offerings. This includes partnering with the technical, product line, legal, operations and sales teams to validate assumptions and scenarios, identifying risk/rewards, leading deal approval discussions, ensuring these are captured in the contract terms & conditions, and strategizing on commercial negotiationsRisk Management:Monitor, assess and manage enterprise & portfolio risks impacting the GE Aviations APAC business including financial, credit, and execution risks. Develop risk frameworks, preventive and reactive measures to control and mitigate risk exposuresStructure payment plans, credit terms, securities, and economic trades according to macro, customer, and contract riskFinancial planning and analysis:Track and drive APACs performance measurement targets and metricsPlan, report, and drive Accounts Receivables/Cash collections for APAC regionPlan, budget, and manage SG&A expenditures for APAC Commercial organizationProjects:Support global risk and commercial finance initiatives/projectsSupport cross functional projects on LEAN process improvement, commercial knowledge managementQualifications / Requirements:Bachelors degree from an accredited university or collegeRequires significant levels of experience in one or more of the areas (Finance, Risk Management, Engineering) where roles involved risk assessments and required frequent use of financial and/or quantitative analytical tools, skills, and processesBusiness partnership experience which involved providing cross functional financial leadership and strategic insight to help meet operational goalsDesired CharacteristicsAttention to detailsKnowledge of long-term commercial contracts or proposals (Aviation preferred)Understanding of technical and financial modeling processes for contracts (Aviation preferred)Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of the Aviation business and how to drive sustainable growth for GE and our customersLeadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative with demonstrated success in a project leadership roleProblem solver: analytical-minded, challenges existing processes, critical thinkerFocused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committedTransparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructivelyHumble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learnAbout UsGE is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
