WHO ARE WE SEEKING?We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Business Development Manager to drive growth in the English assessment industry in India. The cover letter should address your specific interest in the position and outline skills and experience that directly relate to this position.JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Business Development Manager -Asia Pacific will lead the organizations business development activities in the allocated region to achieve revenue growth and sales targets. They will develop plans and strategies for market development and increased market penetration for our products and services in target markets. They will identify, nurture, and manage key accounts and high-value opportunities (HVOs), and grow the network of and manage key stakeholders, and manage business development staff in the region.As a member of the management team, the Senior Business Development Manager - Asia Pacific contributes to the development and furtherance of our strategic objectives and tactical plans and is responsible for sales and revenue forecasting for the region.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understand the English language assessment market in Asia, including trends, competitor activities, and client needs.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and evaluate regional and country business development strategies and plans that contribute to market development, increase market penetration, and ensure annual sales targets are achieved by product, revenue, region, and country.
  • Identify and establish relationships with universities, colleges, immigration agencies, nursing institutions, and healthcare organizations. Assume overall accountability for the sales function in the region, leading the team members in the implementation of the regional sales plans. Manage, analyze, and report on new opportunities, sales activity, revenue pipeline, and other business metrics via CRM and other channels, making recommendations on priorities and remedial actions in order to maximize revenue. Assume responsibility for sales and revenue forecasting/reforecasting according to the annual business timelines.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with, and support strategic partners and key accounts, and build significant business with them. This will include channel partners, educational and healthcare agents, local and international education providers, and consultants.
  • Contribute to test center capacity planning in the region, ensuring that the supply and demand of testing seats are aligned to optimize profitability. Identify opportunities for new testing locations in the region, conduct due diligence on prospective testing partners, and provide ongoing audit and training for the authorized test centers to ensure compliance with established security protocols, processes, and procedures.
  • Provide ongoing product training and academic support for the channel partners, key clients and institutional affiliates.
  • Represent the organization in the market, acting as a beacon figure to corporate, government and educational stakeholders to position our business as their preferred option. Represent the organization at domestic and international conferences and events.
  • Manage the regional Business Development team. Continually build and enhance communication, teamwork, professional development, and core skills among the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Masters degree in marketing, communications, business or related field
  • Experience (7-10 years) in promoting assessment products and services
  • The candidate can apply from industries such as Education and Assessment, Publishing, Professional Upskilling, K-12 Curriculum Sales, or Study-Abroad Consulting.
  • Intercultural competence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in the English language
  • Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
  • Proven sales ability and ability to work autonomously
  • Strong stakeholder focus, including good networking and relationship building
  • Competent user of most Office products and Salesforce, and ability to learn new software programs quickly
  • Results-driven; able to set and meet targets
  • Experience working with international stakeholders and/or customers
  • Knowledge of digital and consumer marketing
  • Knowledge of the healthcare sector
  • Experience working with recruitment agents in the education and healthcare sector, particularly with international agencies and recruiters
  • Experience running marketing/recognition campaigns
