Position Overview



Diligent is looking for a talented and experienced Senior Data Engineer to join Diligent's Data & Analytics Team, reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Engineering. You will play a critical role in developing, building out, and our data pipelines and infrastructure within Snowflake and maintaining clear documentation within DBT, our transformation and version control tool. You will partner with both the data analyst/BI Team and business stakeholders, providing valuable tables and views for their consumption in Tableau and will help implement new requirements and fix issues as they arise. This is an integral role within the global team responsible for helping build a best-in-class organization data infrastructure across all departments in the organization including sales and marketing, finance, customer success, product, and HR.


Key Responsibilities


• The Data Engineer will help develop, maintain and support an enterprise-wide data warehouse system complete with user-friendly, well documented datasets
• Collaborate with analytics and business teams to create data tables and views that provide clear and actionable data to our data visualization team, increasing data accessibility and fostering data-driven decision making across the organization
• Improve & optimize current live ETL flows
• Implement scalable solutions that align to our data governance standards and architectural roadmap for data integrations, data storage, reporting, and analytical solutions
• Troubleshoot data-related issues as they occur & implement scalable solutions
• Assist our Data Analysts deploying data visualization dashboards


Required Experience/Skills:


• 3+ years of experience working in a data engineering capacity - partnering with business or analytics team users, developing ETL flows, requirements, and documentation
• 3+ Years of practical SQL experience, including common table expressions, rank & window functions, complex case statements, pivoting and the ability to understand pre-existing code written by others
• 3+ years of Snowflake Development Experience
• 2+ years with ETL tools, like dbt, alteryx
• 1+ years of Python
• Firm grasp of advanced excel and data analysis techniques
• Data visualization tool experience such as Tableau or Power BI preferred
• Strong experience with ETL processes, bringing in data from a 3rd party starting point and seamlessly integrated it as part of finished, polished dataset
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Engineering / Information Technology preferred.
• Experience with SaaS, or in a Sales or customer facing organization is preferred
• Experience with source systems tools such as Salesforce, Google Analytcs, NetSuite, Oracle HCM, etc.
• Experience working directly with stakeholders and ability to take direction and feedback to create actionable datasets that meet their needs
• Process oriented with great documentation skills
• Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• A high degree of intelligence, natural curiosity, and a strong worth ethic
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-oriented, collaborative environment
• Strong written and verbal skills and ability to communicate at technical and business levels.
