:OverviewThe role is accountable for the day to day management of capabilities related to Service Design & Transition. For example (but not limited to), IT Asset Management (software & hardware), Service Configuration Management.The role will form part of and collaboratively contribute to the Service Design & Transition team that is responsible for Change Control, IT Operational Readiness, and Availability & Capacity Management.This role will Develop and lead strategy for maturation of IT Asset Management and Configuration Management programs, processes, technologies, and staff

  • Manage the Configuration and Asset management processes, including formal
  • configuration baseline control, configuration documentation and functional and physical configuration audits, ensuring adherence and accuracy of information recorded.
  • Develop and implement procedures for tracking Org wide CIs & Assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycle.
  • Implement and monitor processes to ensure the accuracy of hardware, software, and configuration items.
  • Manage a team of process leads and support staff that that provides asset and configuration management support including auditing, reporting, training, and database updates
  • Provide data analysis and statistical reporting for the CMDB with ServiceNow platform team to develop automation of tasks and activities to reduce process cycle times and increase accuracy
  • Collaborate with other Service Management process owners to ensure effective touch points with ITSM processes such as Incident, Request, and Change Management
  • Verification and validation of configuration records against a variety of data sources and systems.
  • Consultancy on process gaps of the Configuration and Asset management process during business hours.
  • Provide input to SACM development to ensure the SACM is accurate and a reflection of the IT environment with inputs from the Supplier and 3rd Parties.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of tracking system for all hardware/software CIs & Assets in order to maintain an accurate inventory and accounting of all CIs, assets and their components.
  • Creation and documentation of procedures.
  • Ensure sub configuration process owners\' roles are carried out to maintain full accuracy of the CMDB (e.g ensuring the Network, Application, Infrastructure etc. configuration owner has complied to the process in a timely manner).
  • Provide support to projects to ensure seamless collaborative service planning and transition of projects to support
  • Support Service Design & Service Transition (Service Introduction) processes and activities e.g. training of new partners.
  • Maintain standards, procedures and work instructions related to providing effective customer and technical support services in the assigned area.
  • Suggest improvements for the Configuration & Asser management processes and actively mobilize and lead service improvement plans where service delivery performance is unsatisfactory or can be improved

Operational Management
  • Lifecycle management of all Link Group assets and Configuration Items (CIs)
  • Currency, integrity, and usage optimisation of software (including licenses) and hardware
  • Software and hardware audit
  • Capability reporting
  • Integration with other closely related processes and practices e.g. Joiners / Movers / Leavers, End User Computing, Procurement, Data Centre Management
  • Management of associated tools and ongoing relationship with tooling vendors.
People Leadership
  • Managing the asset and configuration teams including vendors relations
Governance & Risk
  • Ensure compliance with legal, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Support Link Group assurance programs that deliver effective risk management and compliance practices.
Experience & Personal Attributes
  • Total IT work experience 10-15 years
  • 5 + years relevant experience in Asset Management & Configuration Management
  • 3 + years people management experience
  • 3 + years experience with ServiceNow ITSM platform, especially with Asset Management and Configuration Management Databases and ServiceNow Discovery
  • A track record in and / or proven ability in the development and execution of a Software and Hardware Asset Management capability Working knowledge of Service Configuration Management
  • Significant experience working with enterprise class IT Service Management and IT Asset Management tools such as Service Now, Flex era Flex Net
  • Significant experience implementing or managing ITIL V3 / V4 practices
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • A pioneer mindset.
  • Ability to influence all levels of management
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical actions to a non-technical audience
Nice to have Qualifications -
  • ITIL v3 or ITIL 4 Foundation certification
  • IT Asset Management certifications such as Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
  • Lean IT, Six Sigma, PMP, or similar industry certifications
  • Project and program management planning and organizational skills
