Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview •


Global Banking & Markets division serves mid- to large-sized corporations and institutional clients worldwide. It is comprised of Business Banking, Global Commercial Banking, Global Corporate & Investment Banking, Global Markets and Wholesale Credit. Aligned with these client-facing groups are Global Capital Markets and Global Research. Global Banking and Markets Technology provides end-to-end technology solutions for Global Markets and banking businesses including Equities, Prime Brokerage, Interest Rates, Currencies, Commodities, Derivatives, Structured Products, Commercial Card, Cash Management, Payments, Sales, Servicing and Fulfillment. Across all these products, solutions include architecture, design, development, change management, implementation and support using various enterprise technologies.

The Senior Architect position in Architecture group is critical to influence & drive the end-to-end technology strategy & architecture solutions for strategic initiatives aligned to Bank Principles and guidelines, in active collaboration with various partners internally and externally to the bank.


This job is responsible for defining an architectural vision and solution that supports the strategic outcomes of the Business' Products and Services. Key responsibilities include defining the target operating environment, designing for client resiliency, assisting with solution design, and defining non-functional requirements. Job expectations include working with stakeholders and service providers aligned to the Business' strategic objectives, evaluating the impact of strategic design decisions, and contributing to the architecture roadmap.

Responsibilities •

• Providing strategic Architecture direction and support for organizations.
• Working across teams to ensure visibility to ongoing and upcoming deliverables, strategies, and tactical approach.
• Driving adoption/reuse/integration/convergence of horizontal tech capabilities supporting Global Banking platforms
• Analysing new technology and determining best fit for the bank.
• Deliver high quality architecture solutions for large multi-generational programs spanning one or more business domains to support organizational missions.
• Adhere to and help create GPO principles and standards based on industry best practices.
• Work on multiple projects utilizing waterfall and agile methodologies to provide target-state solutions that best fit the business requirements and align to enterprise goals.
• Create and maintain the target application architecture and blueprints along with strategic roadmaps.
• Maintain reference architecture and defines shared application components, platforms, interfaces, and development tools.
• Provide high-level design choices and recommendations based on architecture alternative analysis.
• Effectively communicate designs and solutions in multiple forums and to various audiences including technology and business executives.
• Collaborate with other Architects within the organization and enterprise.
• Offer technical guidance on technical standards, including coding standards, tools, or platforms.

Requirements •

Education •

• B. Tech/BE/MCA (Computer Science, Software Engineering)

Certification if any: Enterprise Architecture methodology and framework certification

Experience Range •

• 15 - 17 Years

Foundational Skills •

• Experience in Digital Banking & Payments solutions
• Experience in enterprise application, Java/J2EE, REST services, Spring, Hibernate, SQL, Java Script, Activity and API Platform (Mule, Spring), Middleware & DB
• Experience in Cloud Native Solutions, Containers.
• Software design and development experience in modern programming languages.
• Knowledge in Continuous Integration/Deployment and Container automation.
• Proficient in providing recommendations supported by Alternative Architecture Analysis (AAA, Proof-of-Concept (POC), Vendor evaluation & other methods that substantiate the proposals and recommendations.
• Knowledge and experience with working in an agile SDLC methodology environment.
• Self-driven, innovative and pushes for high-quality measurable outcomes.
