:What You\'ll DoYou will be reporting to the Manager - Compliance . You will work from the Pune officeWe are looking for a Senior Analyst, Premium Returns (SUT), to join us, offering an excellent opportunity for professional growth. The Sr. Analyst will focus on identifying areas of improvement and serving an elite group of customers with complex returns as the primary contact. It involves providing a high level of service to taxpayers enrolled in our Premium Managed Returns Service, being the first contact for customer interactions. The position requires both internal and external communications about customer returns service, taking ownership of customer satisfaction. The role includes understanding customer needs to maximise their use of Avalara\'s expertise and software, ensuring clear communication and setting expectations, especially during escalations, to navigate the complexities of compliance.What You\'ll Need to be Successful

• Prepare, review, and file multi-jurisdictional tax returns.
• Be a primary contact for a select group of customers.
• Resolve jurisdictional notices on behalf of customers.
• Onboard and validate new sales/use tax returns customers.
• Identify and improve automation across multiple market and tax verticals.
• Communicate with customers, jurisdictions, and internal teams.
• Perform QA on sales and use tax content and form changes.
• Identify process and technology improvements to better serve customers.
• Collaborate with all staff members and management.

About the Team

• Analyst (I2): Bachelor\'s degree + 2 years of experience, advanced degree, or equivalent work experience.

• Sr. Tax Analyst (I3): 5 years of experience + Bachelor\'s degree, 3 years + Master\'s degree,, or equivalent work experience.
• You should have strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn and adapt to various software applications and tools.
• You should have an experience of Microsoft Office, including Excel functions (e.g., power pivot, vlookup, hlookup).

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in accounting or finance
• Experience with a Big 4 firm, large corporate tax department of a multinational company, or large ERP integration
