Job overview and responsibilities
The People Analytics team is responsible for providing data driven people insights that drive the organization forward. The Sr Analyst - People Analytics will partner with the HR and business stakeholders to develop reactive & proactive reporting capabilities for people metrics across the employment lifecycle. This role requires experience with analytics & visualization tools to develop sustainable self-service solutions, data governance, and project management.
• Develop data visualization solutions that support reactive & proactive reporting capabilities for people metrics
• Partner with HR functions to support ongoing operational analytics efforts
• Perform multi-dimensional analysis to support complex projects leading to actionable insights that drive human resource strategy
• Identify actionable insights and share recommendations to influence the direction of the business
• Ensures best practices are followed for data capture and tracking
• Identifies data capture and analytics improvements and works with team to implement
• Build high-quality story decks, dashboards, tools and reports for operation's leadership, eTeam, front-line management and individual business teams throughout the organization
• Curate tables and views that serve as the "single source of truth" for United's operations data
• Perform multi-dimensional analysis to support complex projects leading to actionable insights that drive human resource strategy
• Proactively identify problems and opportunities and perform root cause analysis/diagnosis leading to business impact
• Identify actionable insights and share recommendations to influence the direction of the business
• Ensures best practices are followed for data capture and tracking
• Identifies data capture and analytics improvements and works with team to implement
This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.
Qualifications
------------------
Required
• Bachelor's degree
• Statistics, engineering, business analytics, information systems, aviation management or related degree
• 4+ years analytics experience
• Data visualization (Tableau, Spotfire, PowerBI)
• Experience with Power BI, Spotfire or other visualization tools
• Knowledge of database interface tools, SQL, Python and programming concepts
• Strong understanding of databases and data structures
• Understanding of how and when to apply predictive and machine learning techniques like logistic regression, random forest, GBM, Neural Nets, SVM etc. is required
• Proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Outstanding writing, communication and presentation skills
• Strong strategic/critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills to complement
• Ability to work on several projects and initiatives simultaneously through appropriate prioritization
• Be able to communicate complex quantitative analysis and algorithms in a clear, precise and actionable manner
Preferred
• Master's degree
• Experience working with large datasets and reporting or visualization tools, ability to tell a story using data
