Organizational Overview :Synchronys Information Security Metrics program mission is to Enable leadership and operational teams better visibility into the health and risk of our Information Security program, thus driving enhanced decision making and early warning. Also, Drive insights and actions by strengthening the Information Security Metrics and Reporting capabilities.Role Summary/Purpose:The Senior Analyst, Information Security Metrics will be responsible for the data analysis, data management, automation and functional & system development using Abinitio ETL tool to support and grow the Information Security Metrics Program. Data analysis will include understanding the data provided by metric owners and developing a process to calculate the defined metric. This individual will work with development teams utilizing modern software development methodologies and ETL tool to provide best solution for Synchrony. Data management comprises supporting the metric collection process and organizing the data collected. Automation includes connecting to source data, improving collection and calculating procedures to minimize human error and manual labor and developing Transformation and loading into target systems which can then be effectively present the metrics to Operational Teams, Senior Leadership, Board members, and regulatory committees.This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Were proud to offer you choice and flexibility.Essential Responsibilities:Collaborate with metric owners to manage the data and automate the calculation process by connecting to source data using AbInitio(ETL), developing transformations and storing the transformed data to target databases.Govern design strategy, production promotion processes, software change control specifically related to AbInitio as well as data warehouse technology.Implement process improvements to streamline and reduce manual labor throughout the Monthly Metric CyclePerform BAU metric reporting and data analysis to support the Monthly Metric Cycle.Work with process owners, key stakeholders and other team members to ensure the process improvement plans and metrics are determined, measured consistently and reportedPerform automation, data analysis, ETL process and visualizing to report on all reasonable metrics, which helps improve the functioning of IS organization and its associated internal functionsOpen to learn new tools, techniques, business and technologies on a continuous basisQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's degree in computer science, data management, information security, or other engineering or IT-related major with 2+ years of experience or in lieu of degree 4+ years of experience.Minimum of 2 years experience working as a AbInitio ETL Developer having handled ETL development, operations, automation initiatives, data analysis and reporting.Good understanding of AbInitio ETL, Database and Datawarehouse conceptsAbility to write reusable code components and Performance tuning experienceHands-on experience in writing shell scripts, SQL queriesSound communication skills: Able to clearly present information through spoken or written work; reads and interprets complex information; conveys information effectively, listens well.Experience in data visualization reporting like Tableau would be added advantageDesired Characteristics:Preferred exposure to the following Ab Initio tools: GDE - Graphical Development Environment; Co>Operating System ; Control Center; Metadata Hub; Enterprise Meta>Environment; Enterprise Meta>Environment Portal; Acquire>It; Express>It; Conduct>It; Data Quality Environment; Query>It; Test Data Management.Experience with basic SQL, MY SQL DB, Unix, MS Excel and other Office suite applications would be an added advantageGood to have experience in developing dashboards using Tableau or other Business Intelligence tools.Performance tuning experienceKnowledge of cybersecurity and related disciplines beyond a basic level is a plusShould be a self-starter who demonstrates ownership over assigned objectives and is able to work independently and with a teamLeadership skills with a passion for continuous improvementEligibility Criteria :Bachelor's degree in computer science, data management, information security, or other engineering or IT-related major with 2+ years of experience or in lieu of degree 4+ years of experience.Work Timings: 03:30 PM - 12: 30 PM ISTThis role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time - 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
