Risk Team oversees and manages the Risk Program in order to support the business in anticipating and addressing risks, issues and challenges. Results are consistent with the respective strategic uses and complying with related Overall Risk / Risk Testing policies, standards, procedures as well as regulations. This role is aligned to Enterprise Risk Analytics team. It requires high level of expertise with data & analytics - minimal technical supervision to effectively contribute to projects.Role Summary/Purpose:The selected candidate will be a Senior Analyst on the Risk Analytics Team in India, that rolls up into Synchrony Financial India. The candidate will be responsible for using analytics and innovation to support the development of data driven solutions that yield efficiencies and enhanced effectiveness across the organization. This role will also be responsible for becoming a functional expert, while collaborating with Synchrony Process Owners including VPs.Essential Responsibilities:Develop, execute, collaborate, communicate, and drive data driven solutions and results with the analytics pillars such as Compliance, Operational Risk and First Line Process Oversight.Independently validate processes, reports, dashboards, controls, etc. for effectiveness, efficiency and accuracy using any data.Take initiative in driving analytics-based process improvements, insights, and actions.Become a data SME and an Analytics Athlete that includes end to end functional learning, leveraging most data warehouses and applying the necessary tools for each solution that includes data coding, automation, visualization, machine learning, and data mining.Execute data driven solutions by working with the Risk Analytics team lead and team members along with customers across both the first and second lines of defense by leveraging the latest analytical tools and technologies.Document project requirements to be leveraged in Business-wide report-outs.Work with our customers to de-risk Synchrony through analytical oversight and review of end-to-end processes utilizing data to ensure key objectives and risks are accurately connected in a meaningful manner.Interact and present key data driven updates and key initiatives to the leaders across both the first and second line of defense.Participate in the Risk Engagement Strategy process that will develop and drive improvements across the Risk Team.Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.Qualifications/Requirements:Bachelors Degree in any discipline with 0-2 Years of relevant experience in Analytics and 2-4 years in lieu of degree.Working Knowledge of SAS, SQL and Tableau is requiredStrong written/oral communication skillsProven ability to deliver Analytical solutions for Business problemsDesired Characteristics:Understanding of USA credit business marketCredit card analytics experienceExposure to R, Python and machine learning toolsWork Timings: 01:00 PM - 10:00 PM ISTThis role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time - 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally).
